He wasn't looking to insult you as much as confirming his assumption XD at least that is what I had seen.

I think if we had HP restoring or defense boosting song the question would be a lot more settled and not just an afterthought for true OG BRDs to take advantage of.Here's my personal flowchart:
Are both healers alive, the situation is non-critical, and there are no mages in the party? Don't sing.
Mages in the party and it's a DPS race? Sing Requiem
Healer died? Sing Ballad
People keep dying forcing healer(s) to rez in the same battle? Why the hell are we still alive? Anyway, sing ballad. Usually only happens in ST.
Part of being a bard is knowing when to sing...unfortunately the line between "Singing would be helpful" and "it's a wipe" is RAZOR thin.
Actually it's quite possible on T8, but I've only ever seen it with a 2nd Bard in the party.
Our static's Bard does:
390-420 on T6 (Foes)
T7 too many DPS breaks while waiting for phases to be any use
Around 400 on T8 (While singing Foes + TP)
Around 370 (I think) on T9 (Foes + Ballad)

ew 2 bards xD
and I said 450 btw.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-SING-!/page23Because, for the 50th time in this thread, that is their JOB. It is not my responsibility to tell you what song to play. It is their job to assess the situation at hand and choose the best song for said situation, just like it is for healers to use the most efficient healing skill for the situation instead of "LOLMEDICA2! BARD!! BALLAD ME!!!!". BRD DPS rotation is incredibly simple, and the challenge that comes with using a BRD is managing your songs. "What if they forgot? Or don't pay attention sometimes?" What if a healer forgets to heal, or doesn't pay attention? What if a tank forgets how to tank? It's not SE's fault for making a hybrid. If you choose to play BRD, then part of that role is to support when needed. That's like a PLD that doesn't want to tank but picked it because it's the only "sword class". On top of that, there's also the all-too-common "don't tell me how to play" players whenever you communicate with them.
[Scroll down for my older posts and next page I believe as well.]
I've come back to this topic to reply to Odett again and now I kinda agree with him.
So far, I ask a Bard to sing, they don't do it...or when I'm so screwed in a fight and I don't have time at all to say anything and they just sit there
and say I died again, then my Aether is gone, and the WHM is low from rezzing me all day, bard sits there like an ass.
I'ma get mad lol. So yeah, please look at what you're doing sometimes people. I apologize to Odett for thinking he was being mean and pretty much only saw how my parties go...
which where I had time to talk and now I'm doing harder content, I see the difficulties. Yeaaaaah IT'S KINDA ANNOYING!
2 BARDS NO ONE SINGS, WTF! XD So I'm kinda with you people now, but I still ask if I can but friggin' come on! xD

This is the only image I have of a parsed bard due to being ps4, this wasn't mine, but you asked for a picture with no specifications! Yes this is double bard, idk what's wrong with that lol.
I know the parse says only 441 but I've seen bards getting 467 on turn 8. Getting 430 t6, 420 on t9, and turn 7 doesn't really count but I've seen 400 on t7

420 on T9? Your ACT culling must have been the default 6s which eventually results in inflated numbers.http://m.imgur.com/AJMBiJl
