My favorite is an incompetent healer who needs a ballad because they don't know how to manage their mp even though no one died.

Or watching a Blm just stand there for x number of seconds because they did their rotation wrong and ran out of mp.

Don't forget monks who lose their stacks for the stupidest reasons

But.. MRD is a very special case because it can dps better than its job. ARC is just BRD with less utility in that case

Well it still boils down to, I think they should make all classes more viable options, especially archer because people who want to be archers shouldn't be forced into playing support as a bard when they just want to DPS. People who just want to pew pew with a bow and not worry about being support should be allowed to without being useless. There would be less conflict about them being a good enough support role or not, and it would make the players happy who are bad at supporting because they don't like supporting.

I have a macro on WHM for Manasong. Spam macro...no Ballad. See BRD with full mana, trying to ignore the fact that the tank is dying too fast cause I had to rez two of the other DPS and our other Heal...

Also have a Paeon macro for my melee...oh look, BRD has no mana cause we have a SCH as our healer and Foe's is up while we try to AoE...I see this too often, guess no one got the memo that resistance down debuffs (Dis, DK, Foe's, Eye) don't affect DoTs...(EDIT: This is also why I don't really care if Foe's isn't up for a lone SMN with other Phys DPS in a PUG/DF. Rather save the BRD's mana in case the fight goes bad and healers get near OoM rezing than boosting Fester damage by 20%...)

Not really. Telling a BRD to sing is more along the lines of telling the WHM to spam Holy to stun packs of mobs; also keep in mind the songs are effectively cooldowns. Telling a WHM to cast heals is similar to telling a BRD to do his DPS rotation and react to Straighter Shot/River of Blood procs.

That said, my rule is generally if I see the casters at about 50% MP I start up ballad. Requiem is trickier because I learned the hard way it can aggro a pack of mobs unintentionally. >.>;

Or the bard can do their job. Bard has most of the time the least to do in a party (outside of silencing, which most bards don't do). It's not hard to watch for low mp, or toss a requiem when you're Mage heavy. After all bard rotation is 4 to 5 actions at most :/.
