Hunt complaint; but not the one you think

I have to get this off my chest as I experienced this just now and I could not believe just how annoyed I was because of it.

So the S rank Hunt appears in Coerthas and naturally that brings up a frenzied amount of people to the area to attack the poor S rank that dies like a maggot real fast right? So is this gonna be a complaint about how S ranks go down like wet sacks of poop?

No. Yes, they could use more health, but that's not my gripe.

My gripe is this: HOW IS THE PROBLEM OF NOT SEEING THE MOB DUE TO TONS OF PEOPLE NOT FIXED YET!?!?

How the hell do you want to put into a game a system where people will hunt the hell out of things (and don't tell me they didn't know how popular this would have gone. Just bloody look at Odin/Behemoth to see that there IS interest in open world beasts) and not upgrade the infrastructure to take on the amount of people on there.

It's mindboggling and very frustrating to realize that not only can I not see the mob (And I normally run a PLD but this time I was running on my BLM. I am SO SO sorry ranged folks that have to do this stuff because mobs never show up because of the slew of people in the area) but I get killed because of said mob I can't see or avoid.

S-E. If you want to put open world mobs out there, I am totally for it. I love the idea of having either dungeons or open world mobs to play with. I don't care if the rewards are better one way or another to do it; I rather just have content to play.

But please please PLEASE upgrade your mainframe and infrastructure to actually take a significant amount of people on a mob. And I mean like 500 people. None of this 50 people or 'priority' load ups. You either need to let us decide what is supposed to render first by giving us a visual tab and choosing NPCS/Mobs/Players like some games do, or you really need to have the ability to actually render mobs in the harshest of climates.

Behemoth and Odin still aren't fixed (Albeit they're better now, but that's mostly because their gear is becoming obsolete.) which means it's still an infrastructure issue.

Use some of that revenue you've made off of this game and give us something a bit more powerful server wise. Please. Some of us actually want to do the Hunts and I have no idea how my 7990 video card cannot support this at all. It makes no sense.

    Sincerely,

    A frustrated player.

It's not really possible. It's either far too expensive, or the players would object to the solution. For example, how do you think people would react if we had something similar to EVE's TIDI?

Just had this frustration for a S-Rank hunt in South Shroud myself. Couldn't see the mob at all, there were too many players so the mob never loaded. If a mainframe upgrade is out of the question, at least give the players an option on what takes priority for loading in areas, or the maximum number of players that will appear around them at any given time. This would cut down on the loading problems for many in towns, and most likely fix this problem so instead of seeing 50 players all over the place, we'd be able to see as little as 15. That alone would make this far more bearable to me...or at least give the monsters, THE THINGS THAT CAN KILL YOU, more priority than the players when it comes to loading.

On PS3 and it's far worse. Just 15 minutes ago Mindfrayer popped. It was visible the whole time I was present there while it was not tagged. Even with the amount of people that was present in the same spot. The moment it was pulled... POP..vanished. Never reappeared again. No attack telegraph signs or anything.

This to me is the only beef I have with the hunts. Heck even Odin and Behemoth show up on my screen after a second that the systems gets adjusted.

Here you go this is the way to have all mobs rendered strait from live letter 9.

Q: Regarding Odin and Behemoth FATE Congestion, Display Issues, and Server Crashes
A: In order to avoid CPU stress when a large amount of people gather together, fields are rendered using 8 meter grids. Furthermore, these grids are not focused around your character, but rather the areas of the zone.

In a single grid, a maximum of 100 characters will be displayed. Since NPCs and monsters have display priority, the monsters themselves do not actually disappear, but once more than 100 players enter a grid, certain characters are no longer displayed. The system was set up to hide objects from other grids, so even if hundreds of characters gather, stress is not placed on your PC.

However, there is one problem. If, for example, Behemoth is in a certain grid, and the amount of characters in that grid exceeds 100, no matter what happens he will always be displayed within that grid. However, there is no display priority for adjacent grids. In short, if you're not positioned in the same grid as Behemoth, you won't be able to see him when the area is crowded with hundreds of players. If you move to the grid where Behemoth is located he will always be displayed, but once he moves to a different grid he will disappear again.

my own fix for this has been to go WHM and spam Med2 or Brd and use Foes & Flame Arrow QQ
