Simple fix is if you try to reset it and when too far, the NM do a spit for 99,999 and you died.

Let's replace a mechanic that's prone to trolling but is ultimately harmless and can even be beneficial with another mechanic that's even more prone to trolling and will cause more harm than good, perfect idea.
I like the idea of resetter = dead man, my self. You could even have the kill move cause a knockback as well, so the dead man's body goes sliding away like 30 meters.
A GTFO move in every sense of the word. Like, Fluid Aura MMXXCLL or something rediculous, lol.
Or, get rid of the invulnerability and instant 100% hp? Sure, have it return to it's spot after being pulled too far, but let it still be attackable, and it's hp regen slowly if not attacked? Kinda like, you know, every mmo in the history of the world ever?
Ok, not really seeing the point of this thread. My server is relatively small so it may be different for you, but the only time people reset the hunt mobs on our server is when they were pulled early and it benefits everyone by resetting. It doesn't keep anyone from getting credit, and lets more people get credit. On your server is resetting the mob bad in some way unbeknownst to me?
I believe resetting also resets your credit progress.
But what happens when you are just walking by, minding your own business and you accidentally aggro a hunt monster that you didn't see, or maybe spawned while you were fighting monsters around the area? You can't beat it alone so you try to run away *BAM* 1 hit for being a coward and not fighting to your dying breath! Ha, take that random innocent passerby!
Something tells me this one isn't quite gonna fly. xD The idea where the hunt runs to the person second on the hate list on the other hand.. I suppose it would be fine, but I do hunts on a healer class so I do my part on being thoughtful by simply tapping the monster with Aero and spam AoE heals for full credit so more people can hit the monster before it dies with me not helping nuke it down. As far as being at hunts early, I still don't pull and early pullers get no sympathy from me either if the monster lived long enough to kill someone there obviously wasn't enough people there to melt it pre-mechanics and the reset was justified. >:3 Patience is a virtue, try and remember that. s( ^ - ^)b

Well they did say they want Hunt to be Dangerous when roaming in the Open World, but right now it is not and they are just a zerge fest that died in seconds. There nothing wrong with someone pass by get a aggro and one shot, it not like you lose anything from dying anyway. But what happens when you are just walking by, minding your own business and you accidentally aggro a hunt monster that you didn't see, or maybe spawned while you were fighting monsters around the area? Why not add 1 shot mechanics to everything? Even to the most trivial things like zoning or teleporting, it's not like they lose anything from dying anyways.
We could also replace that heavy debuff when you're mounted with a doom that kills you in 10 seconds and there's no way to avoid it, it's not like you lose anything from dying anyways.
Lost a roll in a dungeon? Dead, it's not like you lose anything from dying anyways.
