Why do people do Odin?

I don't get it.. every time I ask what's the big deal about Odin people tell me he's for aesthetics. But people go crazy for Odin! Is it really just aesthetics? People leave instances, people drop whatever they are doing to go fight Odin.

Is it that armor he has that people want? No offense but that armor is UGLY!

He pops up only once every few days. It's a fun random distraction that you don't get to do very often.

Yeah it is aesthetics. Armor looks damn cool and I want it. Plus is a reason to gather all the server on one place, like a short server wide party and that's cool too.

Different strokes for different folks. Some people feel badass in black. Shame you can't glamour it though but people do want it.

But they mostly want the sword most likely. Chances are only a good 20-40 people out of 200 or so zergers would probably get gold, while everyone else gets one totem. He only spawns every two days, at randomest times, so even more people miss him. So theoretically, the average player probably only gained 1-2 tokens from him a month if they're just playing normally without staying up 24/7 for his pop.

Other than that, your party was probably failing and they needed a reason to ditch.

Also you never know... they might make odin stuff desynthable.

sometime you just do it because it is there , stop question for once and jump into it and you might find it fun.

Myself I already have everything from odin & behemoth, even the housing furniture, I still jump into odin when I can

Maybe it's also because some people want to be Odin when he spawns again?

Something that I never actually knew before a month or so ago was that whoever deals the killing blow to Odin will determine Odin's race and will be marked with his killer's name the next time he spawns. So for example, if I killed Odin he would not only be represented as a Miqo'te the next time he spawns, but you'll also see a subtitle that says "Skara Brae" on his name.
