Recruit a friend + new character creation restriction

So I actually recruited a real person to get the new mount. My problem is I'm on a server that almost always seems to have character creation restrictions. My friend wants to play with me on my server. They bought the game 2 days ago and has been waiting around for my server to open up. (Even checking at each interval they refresh the character creation restriction status page.)

This seems a bit backwards. Why recruit someone to play the game when they can't play with you...? Usually games let people bypass character creation restrictions in recruit a friend situations... Am I missing something here or is my friend SOL until the restriction is lifted...?

It's been a few weeks since I returned to this game from about a 9 month break so I was a bit surprised to see we're still dealing with character creation restriction since it's almost been a year since the game launched. O.o

Just letting you know.

I am also on Balmung and recently came back to the game myself after a couple month break. I did make a brand new character as I love Roleplaying various characters. I had to wait two days to make my character and do it around 8 AM Eastern time on a Monday morning.

However, with that in mind, with the new recruit a friend and free trials, it could be very tricky. I wish the best of luck to your friend.

No problem.

It can be frustrating with character restrictions. Especially when all you want to do is make another character on a server you already play on. You can only play one at a time, seems silly to restrict new characters on an account that already has characters on the server.

The perks however, less gil spamming!
