So someone went on a journey (I wont call any names, /me looks at bobbygunz) and woke up a 1 year old thread? there should be an achievement for this.
I wonder how many pages you had to travel to find this unique thread..

From that same interview:Yaaa, you know what yoshi said about making this game stand out!?! HUH!?! Well, lets find out!
Hey, yoshi! How will this game stand out from others?
"A: Final Fantasy XIV has a more unique game history and culture, which is a big factor *refers to Final Fantasy 8, Faye Wong singing “Eyes on Me”*. Korean MMORPGs focus too much on the game itself, but not about the real life culture surrounding it."
"Can you tell us ... what innovations were made?
A: ... the Chocobo... graphics ... party-activated killer moves... There are more, but they will remain as a secret for now."
So it's a "secret", apparently.
You say this like it's a bad thing. The company system isn't gone, and nor has the craft-in-groups idea been thrown out. Getting rid of support for crafting and gathering classes as viable mains was also a ridiculously good move. The idea isn't bad on paper, but to make it work almost everything else in the game would have had to have been scrapped in favor of a more EVE-esque style of game enviornment, which I don't think is what people normally want when they think of a Final Fantasy game, and certainly wouldn't have been anything resembling the original or current version of the game.Originally it had the ability to play as crafting or gathering as a main. And would have had the company system (enhanced linkshells/guilds), the ability to craft in groups, etc. But since Yoshi-P took over many of the creative things that would have made the game stand on its own have been removed.
a unique thing (FOR ME.. not necessarily for you) is that I've always felt that my character in FFXIV has a very specific/weight and feel to it. I guess that relates directly to movement/gameplay/combat but it certainly doesn't feel like any other MMO in that regard. It's the same for Monster Hunter. Anyone that plays that will tell you that the characters have a very specific way they move that makes it unique. To someone just picking it up it may feel sluggish and unresponsive, but it's very intricate and beautiful. If you can't tell I love monster hunter.
But, uh yeah.. I really like how my character moves and fights in FFXIV. that's all I got lol

I feel like Dragon Quest 10 could cannibalize a part of FFXIV in Japan because seeing the trailers it look so different from any other MMORPG, FFXIV? not so much...
it has just been out so let's just wait for the numbers to come in but I hope SE did not released a game that could kill their other game...

I'm quite pleased with the story presentation, and I'm glad it isn't littered with unnecessary, expensive, and hard-drive sucking voice acting. Star Wars has voice acting but not even a fraction of the quest presentation in it, so imo, I believe it's the leader in story presentation.
The amoury systemthe idea that you can use class for solo/general situation then switch to job for more specific role in party play is very unique to me. I wish they would revert back to allowing us infinite time to allot our attributes, with restrictions of course, that'd be awesome.
The FF universe also is a huge point. I'm not sure about other but when I play I get sucked in I really feel my character is relatable. I think crafting in this game is also very unique in the fact that craft/gathering job plays a more important role (repair, meld, etc.)
There is potential and I can't wait to see what they'll do![]()
OK SERIOUSLY , I MADE THIS THREAD OVER A -YEAR- AGO
do i get stalked to the point where ppl bump my YEAR old threads now x_x
