i recruited my friend that doesn't have the game but he cant use it from what im hearing that u have to purchase the game to use the code. I consider thats a dick move square enix thats not fair to some people that looking forward to get a chance to play FFXIV for the 14 day free trial.

Code's worthless unless your friend buys subscription time, it wouldn't make any difference.

I have someone that used the code without getting time (yet).



Have the person click Account Services, then click the button thats where I have marked on there. At the bottom of the page that shows up there is a place to put in the code.

The free trial is one thing, the code is something else entirely.

Sounds like you are using the trial, which the recruitment code doesn't work for- have to have them purchase the game for that (and for the chocobo they have to subscribe for 90 days after the 30 free with credit card or right away with a prepaid gamecard).

If you are trying to use the 14 day trial, it won't work.
If you have not bought the actually game, it won't work.
In order to do it you must buy the actually game + 90 day sub (if you want the items right away).
