Wasn't there a third blade made from that same metal (to go along with the real life myth)? To signify the founding three members of the order?

Am I making this up? Was it Durandal?

3 blades were made of the same material as Oathkeeper for the 3 founding Paladins. Based on the choice of the name Curtana for the Paladin relic and number of sibling weapons (3), Joyeuse and Durandal are likely the names of the other two blades. Joyeuse is often a rapier in FF games so it could potentially be the relic weapon of a fencer class, while Durandal is often a 1 handed sword (it would be funny if it ended up as the Relic of a class such as Dark Knight).

You may be on to something there with Dark Knight. That would be a really cool plot device.

However, is it that Oathkeeper was part of this trio (and therefore replacing either Durandal or Joyeuse in the real life myth) or that it was an addition to this trio? I'm loathe to think that, somehow, whatever these things are made of, it was enough to make four identical swords (as Oathkeeper and Curtana share a model, one can assume that other blade(s) will as well).

Kinda wish I could replay some of the dialogue from the Paladin quests and from Gerolt. :/

When the Relic weapons were introduced in 1.22b this seems to be the info given on Curtana:
Long has the sacred sword Oathkeeper been bestowed upon the commander of the Sultansworn, vowed protectors of Ul’dah’s ruler. Yet it is not alone in its greatness. At the time of its making, three other swords were struck from the same ore and forged in the same fires. These brethren blades, Curtana among them, were then gifted to the three noble paladins by whose hand the brotherhood of the Sultansworn was founded. * Curtana and the Holy Shield are a set, and are awarded together.
Also, if I remember right, Oathkeeper is still missing and has yet to be shown in game. As for the sword used by the Roe Paladin in the Paladin job quests, Curtana, Thyrus and the Artemis Bow are all supposed to be unique weapons, but one NPC in each job story is seen wielding a weapon that looks identical to the lost Relics.
