I would love a card game in this.

Something similar to FF 8 or 9.
You could make the starter set cost 50k-100k (or even more) with the possibility of booster packs.
There could be a leaderboards and tourneys. Which would net you better cards and/or unique gear. But the best would be just running up to someone and challenging them. If you win, you would get card points to spend on gear/rare cards (and knowing SE, these items would cost a lot of CP.
The last little bit would be that every enemy would have a chance to drop their own card. Of course the drop rate would be low. And even lower for rare baddies.
Thoughts? I know not super thought out, but the idea popped into my head, so I thought I would share.

Secrets of Eorzea : For the release of the Gold Saucer, have you considered to include a mount or any other items in connection with this event?


Naoki Yoshida : There will be chips and coins that you get from playing the games where you could exchange for mounts and other rewards. Please look forward to it!




Secrets of Eorzea : You've mentioned before that you don't want to release the Gold Saucer until there are enough mini-games to keep the players satisfied. Do you have a timeframe for releasing the Gold Saucer? Will it be part of the main game or come with the expansion pack?


Naoki Yoshida : It will be in 2.0’s lifetime, before the expansion. The dev work is going well, so it’s almost there.

For now we have to make do with Parley, although it seems impossible to set the difficulty level to anything other than the easy it's stuck on ~_~ But it's something and I think the toy box will be expanded on in time. There's also the Golden Saucer that'll be released at some point (maybe 2.4? I dunno) and that will almost certainly have a card game of some sort.

It wouldn't take much time to port and reskin Triple Triad. And have the rare summon/character cards as drops in primals or dungeons. NOW that will make me want to farm primals or do dungeons again.
