I'm a little sad because I already referred it to my friends earlier and they already joined. And then, this appears. Oh well. Yes, it is only for vanity and fluff, it looks nice though. Hope to see more 2 rider mounts in other future content.

Actually, mine got deleted too about the hat. Specifically, it absolutely does give a swift kick to the shins of the other hats. My preorder/CE bonus shouldn't be less worthy than inviting somebody to play for 30 days. It's bad enough certain gear pieces aren't tied to the SE account and that many players didn't get the "Legacy" price reduction or the mounts and titles and so on from 1.0. Does not inspire confidence when their customer service only worsens the issue, which a year full of forum-goers with the exact same legacy problems that still go unresolved has proven.

Maybe they can add a similar looking mount to the Veteran Rewards campaign. The referral mount looks like a bigger legacy chocobo anyways, so no one should complain that a "referral" mount is re-skinned -again- for the Veteran Rewards.

On an aside note.. When they add chocobo breeding (they better dang it, I will riot) I hope that they add all variation of chocobos like their feather colors and types, general structure and size.. Cause this referral chocobo is huge. Perhaps you can bread a passenger chocobo.

I'm more annoyed with the exp headpiece being infinitely more useful than the helm of light or my asuran armguards. No idea where my hermes sandals went, but I guess they'd be silly anyway what with sprint being a thing. Still, it's not like exp is hard to come by or that I have that many classes under 20 that I even want to play.

The 2 person mount seems somewhat ridiculous to me. It's clumsier than both people using their own mount (first person has to summon the mount, second person right clicks and gets on once it's there) and besides that, when do you ever travel places with people!? It' snot like FFXI where you might need to run for 20 minutes to get somewhere. At most you're travelling for 3 minutes and there is auto-follow. This is barely new functionality and honestly they have to offer something for a recruitment campaign. A 2 person mount seems justified for this purpose, so why not? Nobody's ever going to use the damn thing except when it comes up in their mount roulette.

lol i'm more annoyed with the fact that my server has been perpetually locked out of character creation pretty much since launch (since 8/31/2013), so i can't recruit any friends without paying them additional money to have my account cut off of the server where all the people i already associate with are. I wouldn't do something like a transfer for the items, but it is really annoying when month after month i can't really say anything to my friends who don't play about the game because we'll never be able to play together for the foreseeable future without abandoning the friends i already have in-game, which i refuse to do.

Yeah, it's sad to know that they'll never explore the possibility of two person mounts any time after this, know matter how many years the game runs. Too bad this is the final update for mounts... /sarcasm

The above statement may be a little absurd, but so are the attitudes of impatient "GIVE IT NOW" players. If their decision to not release two person mounts to every person in the game immediately is a game breaking one, you might be playing the wrong game (and genre)

The whole reason behind SE giving out a 2 person vanity mount is to encourage people to tell their friends about FF14 and maybe get them to try it and subscribe. The mount is the incentive for people to do that.

For the love of god instead of complaining how about you just wait it out till the next patch when marriage releases. As the Draught Chocobo doesn't have any bardings to use, there will likely be more variations of it in the future. Man oh man, people jump to conclusions way too fast these days...

Do you think that there will really only be the one two-person mount?

In 1.0, for a limited time, we were able to get a gobbue mount. We, old-timey players, thought we had something special as a remembrance of our 1.0 days... Well guess what, all the new players complained begged so much that they wanted one... And look, you can get one from the Sylphs now.

I highly doubt this will be the only two-person mount added to the game. It is just a special release version. I'm sure in time SE will add other versions of it.
