So I'm curious about resetting elites

Is that something that GMs will actually take action on? It happens all the time, so just wondering on that. Otherwise, I may learn to enjoy it, instead of currently hate it.

I mean, it does wipe credit to anyone prior to reset, so it's not like you're potentially making others lose full credit. But if I can potentially troll hunt groups as a result unharmed, I may find it enjoyable... evil begets evil.

So what does a reset do, really? If you are already there anyway, you keep attacking the mob til it dies, right? You still get full credit for doing so.

So what does a reset do, really? Other than allow even more people to get full credit from the hunt mob.

What the hell is the problem?

Oh, that's right. It just didn't die fast enough for your one or two groups to kill it and claim the reward for yourself, hmm?

    Too bad.

Yep, but it also runs the risk of people losing full credit potential. If a player continuously resets the target that is being attacked by 20 people, so that a following 50+ more show up, the chances of a lot of those people getting full credit does lower significantly. And if it happens all the time, it's... pretty bad. Those who would have had full credit, now gets partial because someone wanted to reset for their own group(s) to have time to get enough threat in. This happens a lot with B's and A's. Not really a big deal, but it can be very annoying to have someone ruin something for you because they simply feel like it.

You can't really troll a hunt group unless its a B, which they don't care about. They would just let the A or S kill you, and then get the credit.

Resetting a hunt target is considered disruptive play and it's against the ToS. Most warriors will holmgang or whatever it's called though to prevent this (if they are smart*).

    *Many people are not smart.

I doubt anything would happen if it happened like once on a mob or something. It's easy for mobs in this game to be reset even by accident.

Now if you were doing it over and over to be trolly + it was really obvious that it was one person/group doing it, I could see them laying the smackdown on you for it.

GMs have already issued warnings and temporary suspensions for this. Reset at your own risk.

It's against the rules because it resets progression, so it causes grief to players that were trying to beat the mob. People did it during FATEs and I seen quite a few complaints about it on the forums a while back.
