This just brings out the underlying issue with modern WoW clones over relying on instanced content, putting too much emphasis on top gear as the only motivation for doing content and also invalidating old content the very second a new tier of gear is introduced.
Hunts still take time anyway, spent about 7 hours yesterday just for one sand, no logs dropped and out of 1 Alex and 5 sands I've only gotten 2 logs. 7 hours that could have probably been better spent, aside from not playing videogames, clearing Second Coil for a chance at getting more than one piece of gear or doing Primals once again for more than one piece of gear, real gear and not just a gear enhancing item. Of course if you're already doing both Coil and Primals then it's a great way to still have something to do and keep gearing up after you're done for the week thanks to the lockout. Myth wise it made me about 3k Myth and overall it was as mind numbing as doing Brayflox speedruns, about the same myth made too.
They should have added marks to other content though, they probably will later on but it should have been implemented alongside hunts. Even something like 5 marks per Frontlines match and dungeon run or 10 marks per roulette would have balanced the load between open world and instances and given a reason to do both, which it still might do when it's implemented, whenever that is though by the time it's done it might be too little too late like a lot of things in this game.
But you said every MMO ever. Not every vertical progression MMO. And my issue is that not all MMOs are vertical progression. Heck, FFXIV has spent more time with horizontal progression than vertical. My original in-game surname was "Alexander" because I played FFXI on the alexander server from NA release until 2008. Very familiar with old content. Very familiar with horizontal progression. The difference is, in FFXIV - a game with vertical progression, is that old content becomes outdated very quickly. Its like comparing apples to oranges. Its not some kind of truism. It just is what it is.
There was nothing equivalent for a lot of pieces of gear for years.
Please tell me this is sarcasm... It does seem it but urgh, internet sarcasm... NEEDS TONE OF VOICE! I want to experience everything, Coil story included. :3who cares if you can't down twintania or titan ex
i110 unweathered is the new hardcore, have fun sitting for 3 hours waiting for your static to get on in fallgourd while I load up on sands and exceed your ilevel, lmao. Actually playing the game? what a waste at this point when I can get unweathered and be the baddest boy in brayflox.
coilers 0 hunters 1
Thankoo! I've taken a note of your name. I'll add you when I'm next online~
~Quit moping, get hoping~
Personally I would like to see how hunts are going in a months time. By then all the current hardcore hunters will have all their soldiery gear upgraded and will only need to get one sand or oil each week. Soldiery tomes still have a limit so while it doesn't seem like it now, it time there will be a limit to how much you can hunt for the best items. I know I only have 4 soldiery gears that are not upgraded. Once they are, I will no longer need to hunt much each week. I think by then things will be more manageable.
I would like to see how it plays out instead of claiming the game to be completely broken. Coil is still the fastest way to get top lvl gear, and I haven't seen too terrible queue times outside of as a ranged dps
Hmm..game still seems fine to me and I don't do hunts.
bring back NMs (b/a rank) & Faction Leves (a/s rank) from 1.23,
problem solved!
