


Path of least resistance. The sad fact is people are getting raid style gear from none raid style content. In terms 2.1 days it would be like getting Coil gear from FATEs.Don't know if I've posted this yet, but wouldn't it indicate there are problems with the rest of the content if everyone is zerging the hunts? I think people feel less stressed out doing the hunts than they do trying to get groups for the boss fights, and it is understandable considering the less than friendly end game culture. I left after beating Twintania back in 2.1 and I'm not particularly looking forward to my first few days in 2nd Coil due to the potential of getting some loose cannons on board. It certainly feels less strenuous.
Hunts are helping me get mysterous maps faster, so neeyaaah.
from morning i'm trying to get CT run with no luck, i used to get it in 10 min as a tank.
I've actually noticed an increase in Labyrinth, ST (near instant queueing) and Upper Level dungeoning as of late in my world.
It's the lower levels that are virtually dead and take at least 15 minutes as a DPS.
PF is very much alive too and I was able to put together a ThornmarchEx party in 5-10 minutes the other night. The best part was, most everyone knew the fight. I still see multiple parties try TitanEx, SCoB and T5 regularly, not mentioning T2 farming parties and even RamuhEx parties. LeviEx farming is practically dead though. I think people are getting bored of hunts now and want to use their gear to begin tackling the fights they feel they weren't strong enough to win before.
The only thing that bothers me is how accessible the Lvl.110 weapons are still. Gear is one thing, but I've seen a massive increase in 110 weapons over the past two weeks. Given they compete easily with Novus, I don't think it's that healthy unless SE has some serious weapon updates next patch.



SE just needs to do like FFXI did and add longevity to content. It is absurd for it to become nearly obsolete each patch.



Well, that what broke hunts in the first place IMO. First, all top loot is pooled into 1 activity, and a lot because of the ilvl system. Since there is not much differentiating Ramuh gear, coil gear, and hunt gear except the magic ilvl, you don't need to do one over the other. If it's ilvl 100 (or 110), who cares! Second is teleports letting players be anywhere in the world in an instant. If it took longer to move across the whole world, I think people would stay put in one or two zones rather than have the whole world on lock down.

Know how when everyone talks of XI, they say the downfall started with Abyssea and how it ruined the game? People will be saying the same thing with Hunts for XIV. I'm severely disappointed XIV already has gotten the Abyssea treatment.

SE needs to balance content where everything has some BIS gear. Or people will simply go to the most effective course.
Hunts are the best way to get sands and oils outside coil2. So people spam it.
People do coil 2 because it drops BIS gear.
People do not do Garuda EX, because all it drops is vanity gear. <= There is your real problem not hunts

You missed the point. I am saying people can't finish EX content, even if they try, since they have no idea how to play their class. These people can be in roulettes, or anything else. They just zergrush for their final endgame gear and have no idea how to play, because they never had to. They never had to know how to properly tank/heal/DPS since they received all of their gear from hunts. You no longer need skill to have almost the best gear in the game, and that totally defeats the entire purpose of having said gear in the first place.
And these are the people I have to do endgame content with? What's worse is when you try to offer criticism on how to play their job, they tell you to mind your own business or kick you because you're a few ilevels below them.
