Getting DPS wait times as a tank on story content.
Getting DPS wait times as a tank on story content.
Last night at 8PM EST on a friday on Excalibur, there were only two PFs up.
Meh.
For all of those who think the hunts are broken, and think that the hunts are killing the game:
Stop being selfish.
If the old, pointless content which offers little in terms of enjoyment and reward were really so popular, they would still be done.
The truth is those events and content suck. DF & PF queues are lower because people would rather do something else. It is selfish and 'game ruining' to think that content which the majority wants to do, should be nerfed so or that the players should be forced to party with you.
If players prefer doing the hunts in the current format, ie the Zerg, then that is their choice. As a player, I have the right to choose the content that I want to do. I am not required to fight titan ex every time some stranger needs it, nor am I required to want to do coil just because you were so far behind when it was released.
Only thing wrong with this game is that it has too many crybabies in it.
I haven't noticed a difference on my main(whm).
I've been leveling up a few DD classes, actually, and my que times have been fine. I did have to wait 15 minutes for a low lv que on lancer yesterday.
Maybe it's different on Goblin, but I just don't see the reason for panic.
This argument isn't based on reality.
The old content could be the most fun thing on the face of the Earth and it would still be ignored. People aren't doing hunts because they're "fun", they're doing them because they give, by far, the best rewards.
Player
Off topic, but since we're there anyways.
I literally lol'd, here.
Invisible mechanics? What?
I'm not trying to be rude, elitest, etc, but... This just seems like the toddler who wouldn't finish Megaman because "THIS GAME CHEATS!!" or some other dribble.
There's very little reason I can see for anyone iLVL 90 or higher to struggle with this, given Echo buff, food, and knowing how to play.
Best of luck with your protest.
Don't know if I've posted this yet, but wouldn't it indicate there are problems with the rest of the content if everyone is zerging the hunts? I think people feel less stressed out doing the hunts than they do trying to get groups for the boss fights, and it is understandable considering the less than friendly end game culture. I left after beating Twintania back in 2.1 and I'm not particularly looking forward to my first few days in 2nd Coil due to the potential of getting some loose cannons on board. It certainly feels less strenuous.
If they want to make end game raids more appealing, they should design them so that they can accommodate various group sizes. The reason end game is so tense is that there is never a situation where the number of raiders are perfectly divisible by eight. People get left out, so there is competition where there really shouldn't be. Have an extra tank? Scale up monster damage. Have extra dps? Scale up the hit points on monsters. Have an extra healer? Again, scale damage up a bit. Would boss fights be perfectly balanced little gems? Certainly not, but I think the payout of being able to bring all your capable friends along and not having to watch them slog their way through a hell of pickup groups would be more than worth it.

Path of least resistance. The sad fact is people are getting raid style gear from none raid style content. In terms 2.1 days it would be like getting Coil gear from FATEs.Don't know if I've posted this yet, but wouldn't it indicate there are problems with the rest of the content if everyone is zerging the hunts? That's not the case at all. I'm actually working on second coil (which involves communication and getting to know people) all via party finder groups or with my FC, but the reality is why take the time to do coil (which has lockouts) when you can just join a zergfest and gear up faster. There's literally no balance with the "no restricted" hunts compared to everything else that has weekly lockouts. Doing coil involves more communication and teamwork than hunts ever will. But it seems to me that many of the people who are still complaining about hunts are people who are simply mad that they can't passively get involved in the activity. They need to talk to people and ask for invites and communicate with others. That's scary scary stuff for nerdly nerds.
Doesn't matter why they don't want to do the old content, they just don't want it. They are choosing to do the hunts because they prefer the hunts over the other crap. This argument isn't based on reality.

Rewards includes: Fun, gear, gil and is based on efficiency (x per hour).
Hunts give the best Myth, soldiery, seals for alexandrite & upgrades for 100 to 110 and is far more entertaining then wiping due to some idiot in a dungeon.
Not even to mention I can get into a hunt pt within 10 minutes of logging in, why on earth would I want to wait in DF for 30 minutes for something that offers less?
Crying to SE saying the content more players prefer is ruining the game because they don't want to play with you is childish.
