Not really. I don't want sound harsh, but they have the EU tag, so they knew fully well where they were going. If we can't have proper servers just because of non EU people playing on EU servers, I don't know what to say... It doesn't make sense that the people that are intended to play in some specific servers have to suffer because of people that weren't the main target of said servers.
We've been paying the same as everyone else, we have our "own" servers, yet we don't have the same kind of service. Having better ping and less potential connection issues would be nice. Otherwise just remove the EU tag or warn people when chosing their datacenter, please, because most don't even know that the servers are in Canada.
And this is coming from someone that doesn't have any issues besides some lag spikes or disconections from time to time (rarely). That doesn't mean, though, that I wouldn't like to have an optimal ping, and not just for me, but for those that I play with too, be it friends or strangers. We play together, after all, and if someone has issues it's bad for the whole group. I've suffered this a lot (someone getting a lag spike on a critical moment when the whole fight was working fine? yes, I've seen it many times), and I'm getting tired of it. And no, playing with someone else is NOT a solution, as it's not acceptable either that people have to PAY for Battleping and the likes when they can play every other MMO out there without issues.
So, please SE, Yoshida, or whoever reads this. What's being asked in this thread is something fair, and it has been asked many times in the past too. Can we get some acknowledgement that we exist in the form of, at least, a proper (and official) reasoning as of why we can't have a real EU datacenter? Isn't FFXIV:ARR successful in Europe? Don't we pay enough money to warrant us the same quality and treatment as NA and Japan?
