I'm sorry, could you please quote where I said that? I was asking the OP how their connection is. What is your problem?
On the part I quoted. If you didn't imply that then I'm sorry. Is just that I've heard that logic thrown quite a bit every time this topic comes up.
Is true that different players may be experiencing lag for different reasons. Faulty internet connection on their end, underpowered hardware but in either scenario the fact that the servers are on the other part of the ocean doesn't help. At least SE should alleviate the problem as much as they can on their part.
Yeah, if only they had some constant stream of revenue. Maybe in a form of subscription. I wonder how other MMO companies do it, I guess they just like losing money for no reason.
Sorry for trying to hold SE at a higher standard than most companies. If it were Nexon I would understand. They don't really give a crap about quality. If it were a f2p game I would still understand but in this case I find it a bit hard to justify.
People may post here all day trying to devalue the importance of having servers closer to where you play, or at least not an ocean away but everyone that has played MP games for a long time knows that it matters.

How many subscription bases MMORPGs do you know that are healthy and well?
I know one: WoW, with... 7 millions? active subscribers.
FFXIV has...unknown active subscribers. but given the media around it, it's more a niché-game at the end of the MMORPG-market.
EU-Servers can be standart, but only if there are enough subscription to authorize such huge effort. All you do is demand, but you don't have a slightest idea how cost/income of SE looks like for FFXIV.
PS: Before someone tries to smartass me: SE announced in April that they had 2 million users. Too bad that this means 2 million registered users, not active subscription! I doubt even half of those users have an active subscription. Most of them will be one-month'ers long gone, making FFXIV a game with probably less than a million active gamers. I just don't think the EU has somany players that they can demand an serverstructure on their own.
