Vote for a EU server in EU

I have cleared everything that can be cleared prior to 2.3, currently working on Savage. But to this day I am unable to play content, such as Titan, without Battleping. The game is unplayable for me without that program. Having servers physically located in Europe would go a long way for me to play FFXIV without a VPN.

Therefore, I support the OP in his question to have EU servers physically located in Europe. If Zenimax with their game, ESO, can do it, a company that has less than half the subscribers of FFXIV, then why can't SE?

It could be awesome for EU players. I understand many don't want to move from their server or didn't have lag issues, however does it changes anything if SE put a server in EU ? You can still play NA or even JP...

I can't understand how people can't approve creating a EU server, it's not like this will do any bad for them. Actually they don't even need to create more servers or data centers, just move the Chaos data center to Europe since most european players are there. I see no problem with a EU player requesting for a server located in EU, but a NA player saying they don't want that is just.... i don't even know what to say.

Unless the game is doing really bad, worse than a F2P game, don't go around saying the cost will be too high and they don't have the money, until they don't come with an updated official response (don't come with a post from beta/launch) i will keep supporting the idea from this thread. Things change, maybe now they can move afford moving the data center to europe, maybe now there's more EU players than before.

I'm not even a european but as a south american player i know very well how high pings can affect your online gaming experience, no, even if you don't lag that doesn't mean everyone from your entire continent doesn't also lag. It will vary from country to country, from state to state, from isp to isp. I see no harm in supporting this idea.

My guess: some NA players, knowing the EU datacenter is in same location as NA, gone in EU servers to avoid all the competition there is in NA servers, and if the datacenter goes EU for real, they kiss goodbye the latency they now are saying it is not an issue, and cry hard this does not have to happen.

NA people playing on EU server will start to cry about latency if server are move to EU like we are crying about EU server on NA...
Actually i got around 150-180 ms all the time, in PVE i don't care, even on titan it's easy to dodge with this latency, but i really love pvp (arena not this fucking frontline), and this is boring to have like 1 sec+ latency between you doing action and you seeing effect.
And i am tired to see people just teleport to a point or got some micro sprint due to latency...

Anyway, SE just look at japanese FORUM where everyone is happy while everyone in NA or EU is asking for some good upgrade..
Like the frontline duty finder thing, we said 2 month before 2.3 that we won't be able to play frontline since it's allmost impossible to have 72 people clicking on "Start", and here we are, they failed frontline launch and had to do a hotfix to the duty finder...

The only SE people looking at NA/EU forums are the GM just to ban people...

European player. Without a tunneling service the game is unplayable, i can't even dodge the aoe of gecko lizards in the central shroud. With the tunneling the lag is acceptable 120-150 ms. I've played other online games and when servers are in Europe i've had no problem.
If i didn't know better i would have stopped playing after 5 min, it's probably a turn-off for many players. Thing is when the servers are far away, your internet provider needs to have good deals with traffic providers across the atlantic. If they don't you're screwed.

I can understand that they had all servers in Canada when they relaunch as they didn't know if the game would work but now the game is rightfully in great shape and given the positive spin for the game all around the web, it's bound to grow even more.

Pretty sure they're SE people reading these threads as it's a big weakness of their product. Moving the servers to Europe would really show trust to potential players on the quality of the game.

This has nothing to do with entitlement, having servers in the same region as your players is really standard for MMO, especially for a subscription based mmo with a large install base like FF 14. Most companies do that, i've even played f2p games who have their servers in Europe.

Having servers overseas come with a whole host of problems, as many players will tell. As OP mentions ESO just moved its european servers in Germany and it's not even selling well. Really it's a no-brainer.
