    Change job in instances please!

Is there a reason we can't do this. It would be much simpler to change to healer or tank after they rage quit than to wait 5-10+ minutes. Also there have been plenty of times where a player was slacking and puling the whole group down but won't leave. A job change from someone else to said role could turn a horrible one into a win.

If we can do it in front lines we should be able to do it anywhere else

There would need to be restrictions in regard to loot if this were to be implemented - imagine Syrcus tower - You're the only tank - a piece of awesome tank loot drops - someone else switches to tank and grabs the loot.

    Imagine the rage!

Maybe a "vote option" "So and so would like to change to ( .... )"

I'd say only allow changing jobs when some people left, or it will create balancing issues I believe.

It would be nice to have this as an option when someone drops or leaves the group and a replacement needs to be found. I've had several when the tank has dropped and I've been playing dragoon (main is a paladin) and would have been happy to switch for the run.

I suspect the reason you can't is for the duty finder bonus. If switch in were possible it may be possible to abuse by queuing as a high level tank for the bonus, getting a low level dungeon the changing to a low level tank (or other class) and getting a massive xp reward.

Just make it so the "In need bonus" and the loot you can roll for are locked to the class you q'd as.

The reason why it can be done in frontlines is because there are no party build restrictions at all (which is something many people are actually complaining about now, due to the fact that some people have been making healer-dominant groups and pretty much being undefeatable and stuff)

It's possible that they are using frontline to test some sort of mid-duty job switching mechanic, but somehow I don't think that's a high-priority thing for them right now...

It's 4am and I don't feel like hunting for the post, but one of the posts about this had a big reason being people wanting people in df stuff to have multiple classes or kicking them, or people using healer or tank to que, then changing to dps

I would love to see that too. Because of "every class on one char" thingie FFXIV has is the only MMO that can pull that off yet it doesn't.

Would make dungeons a whole lot more fun since players might experiment with different party make up for different bosses on the same dungeons.

The ability to change classes during dungeons would be nice to have, but there'd have to be certain restrictions to prevent abuse. Like Munimai suggested, requiring a majority vote to change class sounds like a good start.
In addition, I'd very much like to be able to run a dungeon with less than the maximum amount of players.

This is how it was in 1.0 and unless you want to level and gear every class then you don't want to see this return. It would quickly become expected, especially for dps, to have multiple jobs geared or gtfo. Likely everyone would be required to start as BLM to aoe trash mobs then switch to monk for bosses. That was the standard in 1.0 and if you couldn't switch to those classes then you didn't get a party.
