Ability to set Referrer "Recruit a Friend"

With the new Recruit a Friend I am facing one problem.. or dilemma.
All my friends are currently playing FF XIV, and to tell the truth.. For most of them, I ended up buying the Client for, as a gift.. and to be frank, is the only reason they even play FF XIV in the first place. So you can see that I, am also or have done the same service for you.. in the passed.

So with no one to Invite to the game, Would you be ever so kind and allow my existing friends to set their "Referrer" if any.. So that, We or I may enjoy the pleasure of the Recruit a Friend rewards.

If that does not suit your fancy, how about allowing us to send invites to players who no longer play FF XIV to come back and play for free for two or so weeks, invites of which can only be sent to the same player once every 180 days and 90 inactive, and then both parties can earn the same rewards as "Recruit a Friend" under the same service "Reinstate a Friend".. or something like that, would that be to satisfactory, if possible?
