    Bahamut and the Allagans

I was wondering something about Bahamut. I thought that the Allagans trapped Bahamut in Dalamud due to him being a threat, but due to the explanation of the Crystal Tower basically being a giant solar panel (Spire?), and Dalamud helping in the collection of energy, were the Allagans just using Bahamut as a power source? And if so was that the same case for the rest of the primals that were sealed?

Ragnarok Engines were used for both, keep him sealed and channel the energy from the sun to him and so power Dalamud and then transfer all that energy to earth via the Crystal Tower.

So, Allagans were into energy, arms and biotechnology race against nothing but themselves. I say, they are the baddies. The baddies always are in those 3 things.

To answer your question, Bahamut was imprisoned in Dalamud to serve as its catalyst, and Dalamud to power the Crystal Tower.

The moon serves as a prison, but that is not its reason of construction. It is a bonus of the project.

If the priority were to seal the Elder Primal, the Allagans could have done it in a more effortless matter - as evidenced with Omega, Ultima, Odin's stone and Silvertear's Seal. Although, to be fair, Dalamud is the safest of the devices.

Also, considering a moon would take its time to build, it puts little weight in the argument Bahamut was an immediate threat to the Allagan. The slaving of the dragons in the Coils and the Crytal Tower is ambiguous, as it may be the punishment for a war between the Allagans and the Dravanians, or they may have been domesticated/weaponized. So, if Bahamut was a threat with the possibility to cause them great harm, yes; a threat that engaged them, doubtful.

Dalamud still holds a few mysteries. How they managed to cage primal the first time and launch the satellite are two of those.

If after reading that last paragraph you are thinking about End of an Era, I need to point out to you the two structures are different in nature. Dalamud is composed of matter; Louisoix's of aether.

Considering the remnants of dalamud corrupted the aether on the ground, I'd say it wasn't simply matter, but probably an aetherial construct.
Also, the Heavensfall Nael uses in T9 look pretty much matter-like to me.

Bahamut is sealed under the Coils, but is being resurrected via the Coils as well. I suspect he will come back one day to exact his revenge on the Land.

I'm a little ignorant about this. If Dalamud was to power the Crystal Tower, what is the Crystal Tower's purpose, what does it do with that energy? And can it still serve that purpose for the Allagans who were still alive in it without Dalamud?

The Crystal Tower was originally built to provide power to the Allagan Empire, although it later became a seat of power and research site. According to the arc from the Syruis Tower Dalamud was built to provide additional power to enable the Allagans to open large gates to the void.
Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, I think this is what I was implied by the new plot from the Crystal tower.

Nope, with all lasers regenerating Bahamut being shut down by the time we finished coil3, Bahamut simply vanished to the aether just like any other primals defeated

I'm doubtful it'll be this easy. In the five years after the Calamity only Bahamut's head was formed and affected by the Coils, then we shut one off and in a matter of months (I'm assuming months game time too) he's grown a torso and a semblance of wings. I have a feeling shutting down the Coils isn't as black and white as we think.

After all keys can be used to lock doors as well as open them or some malarkey quoth the Alphinaud, probably 1 7AE
