Hope I'm wrong, but stat squish seems to make people weaker in pre-EW contents?

After EW launch and its stat squish, I feel synced 8-man and 24-man fights pre-EW have become longer, and I keep seeing mech that you can only see when you have half of your raid geared with AF armor.

For example, I got into a the Factory raid. People played decently (very few deaths), but I saw boss 3 doing meteor circles where you have to stand on, which I never saw before even with a badly performed party. Or Nier Tower raid where the final boss used her lines of ring attack in second form TWICE with a decent raid, while the pre-EW badly performing raid only barely saw the ring attack once at best.

8-man is at least bearable cuz it is like 1-2 minutes extra, but 24-man is a nightmare. Any 24-man that is not Crystal Tower ones or Void Ark were painfully long cuz of HP-sponge boss, and now they take even longer to kill even with max ilv synced. This only drives more people to cheat ilv to get into Crystal Tower raids with Alliance Roulette.

Anyone else feels these raids have taken much longer to finish? Or maybe I were just unlucky?

It has definitely been brought up before, even with the nier raids being used as an example of instances taking longer. Some people are quick to dismiss the notion that we have become weaker. Suggesting it’s new or returning players being the cause, or people learning their jobs. But I’m with you. Especially ShB 24 person content, feeling we aren’t doing as well as before the stat squish

In HW and Ivalice, the raids are harder than they were immediately before the squish. They are back to being about as hard as they were when they were new, except for Orbonne which has the Echo and thus is still fairly trivial.

YorHa is pretty much the same as it was in SHB.

Dungeons, on the other hand, are vastly easier. The scariest pulls in SHB were still pretty hairy immediately before squish, and now they're just a shadow of themselves. Even moreso in Stormblood, where its scariest pulls are even more trivial.

Meanwhile, a Heavensward A Rank I could kill in 22 seconds in Shadowbringers now takes significantly longer to solo.

So the squish has had a lot of seemingly uneven results.

I'm still seeing Copied Factory kills on the final boss before his last flyaway phase. That wasn't even guaranteed at the end of Shadowbringers, so...

You are not weaker at minimum item level, but if you are synced to item level 400 in a trial designed for item level 280, the benefit may be less than it was before the squish, because the amount of stats between those item levels is less now.

The few times I have gotten the 3rd nier alliance raid it has been a blood bath. All the other 24s feel the same as before 6.0

NieR and some Ivalice raids are definitely taking longer (Mhach raids rarely pop in DF), esp. Rabanastre will let you see mechanics on the first 2 bosses most people have forgotten or never seen. Not seeing things different in dungeons.
Soloing A rangs in ARR or HW takes longer, even on 90 chars.

From my own experience, the Yorha Raids drag on because people are either murdering each other with mechanics or dps are stumbling through their rotations, if you have a full bunch that knows what to do 9S is already back to being killed before or immediately after his 2nd flight, and big creepy 2B is a breeze. The last few days I've been flip flopping between Void Ark and Weeping City and, sans Ozma, folks can steamroll the bosses like we used to.

I've only gotten one Ivalice raid since EW's EA launched and it was a miserable sea of dead reapers and sages so I cant speak for those lol

From my point of view the entire stat squish is very wonky.

1-50 your stats seem to be the same aka tanks still have about 9k hp at i130, but the dungeons are A LOT easier, stuff dies really fast.
50-80 it gets weird, the growth slows down a lot.

I had the first Nier raid the other day and all i could think was "omg ... this takes forever i should've cheesed the ilv" and even if dmg dealt is subjective i dont think it was just "bad or new players" also on another note it felt like i was taking more dmg as well.

I think SE is aware of this and gave the "epic echo" because of how their squish works ... well that or they want to preserve the original difficullty in roulette, which makes even more ppl cheese ilv.

Am I the only person happy about this? The difficulty game of this level before the stat squish had gotten so low nothing proved a challenge anymore. In fact, if they want to keep nerfing us I would be super okay with that. Im really tired of feeling like a god in game and feeling sorry for once super bosses that cant even finish saying their lines because they’re dead by then. And no, it’s not because I’m good, the game really had just become that easy. I hope they keep bumping the difficulty levels on the instances that are still so much of a joke no one can take seriously.

At the same time they should keep working on the trust system so that people who want everything just handed to them have an avenue that provides no challenge. Lots of people AFKing trust dungeons to 90 for sure. Let them figure it out.

Does anyone even know what Glasya did in CT anymore? Because right now you can just stand there and it dies automatically. In fact, if you want take the AOEs go right ahead, they do like 15% of damage to your HP anyways so you can’t die even if you tried.

And no one is talking about dark souls here, but wow, don’t you think some bosses should require people to slightly move at least once during the fight?

LOTA has become a dangerous alliance now a days because the raid is so numbing that by the time you get to the one mechanic that matters everyone is asleep and the raid wipes.

I’m sorry but it’s not a fun experience, and I’ve heard from multiple new players that they don’t feel challenged enough during the story.

Returning the game to better balanced difficulty is a step in the right direction.
