Dungeon penalty bug?

So I started this Aurum Vale, healer was new, we go into the first boss, healer gets overwhelmed, we wipe. He quits. We are stuck there with 3 people waiting for a healer, another one enters, he realizes its aurum vale and insta leaves, so we keep waiting for a third healer, and after like 5-6 minutes of waiting I leave (we were 3 players, 2 DPS and one tank).

I get 30 minute penalty? For real? Aren't you supposed to get penalyzed if you leave FIRST? What was I supposed to do, sit there for 30 minutes waiting for a healer or else I have a 30m penalty? Please check this SE because the system is either bugged or makes absolutely no sense.

Someone probably joined right as you left but wasn't added to your party list yet. The "Looking for members" thing disappears for a couple seconds before they are visibly added to the party.

Yup your entire life, you'll never ever be able to leave the dungeon as the timer just stops and that will be the end of your adventures in Eorzea.

The penalty applying to other people when its not a full group, is kind of harsh. I don't recall reading anywhere that they made that change. So I'd wager its either a unintended bug, or a ninja fix, which they have been starting to do very subtly lately.

I think I'm going to make a server transfer to Excalibur only so that I can be your friend, you look so cool and ingenious.

Your problem is with the what if.
You never bothered to even try, sorry no sympathy for you. You left on your own accord and got burned for it.
