Monk in Fists of Earth, with several cross-classed defensive cooldowns, and a Chocobo with Choco-Cure (at least!) in Healer stance, and you can solo just about every single B-Rank mark there is. Summoners have it even easier, since they get TWO pets, and of them is actually tanky!

On topic, I think this suggestion is a double-edged sword. It'd help a lot with people like myself, who aren't able to get full credit on the higher rank marks either because they can't even see them, or they die too fast to do so, but it also, as has been pointed out, encourages laziness.

I, personally, believe that A and S-Rank (and possibly B-rank as well) marks should've been similar to Treasure Maps. You either buy or find a special item that you take to a certain location to force the mob to spawn, and only you and your party members can attack it. This prevents the zerg problem, and allows players to basically pick their own difficulty for the mark by deciding how many people to bring with them. I'm still holding out hope that SE will change hunts to be like this...

Edit: Another, and arguably MUCH easier to implement fix, is two-fold: First, remove Bloody Hunting Logs from all Elite Marks' drop pools, and second, cap the number of Allied Seals you can get in a week to just enough to purchase two logs. After all, you can get a bunch of items that are otherwise weekly-capped in other content, so why should it be any different for Allied Seals?

Even if off hours, waiting for 10mins before people show up for a S rank is incredible. Diablos is probably god damn lowly populated.

Such things never happened in Tonberry Server. 4am, 5am? You can be sure that the mob will be zerg'd down within 3-5mins taking into account of the communication time and travelling/waiting time for hordes to come.

I feel like there are a lot of players on Diabolos. o_o; Specially with hunts now, there's usually always people roaming around for hunts plus every city/hub always has a ton of people in them, even in the middle of the night (granted many might be afk).

I'm sure there are servers with even more players, but still. I haven't seen people wait 10 minutes for an S rank, maybe 5 or so. People tend to gather pretty quick, specially when it's an S rank.

I would be interested in seeing a chart/graph of some kind by SE that lists total active players per server. I mean, I've certainly never felt like the server was sparsely populated.

But that being said it's not a zergfest 24/7. There are times, generally like 1am-7am(ish) cst were people wait a minute or two for others to gather at A and even B rank Elite Marks. Yet, it does seem like the time when it starts to become a zergfest has been steadily increasing each week.

What is "zergfest" anyway? I mean, we zerg the mobs anyway with anywhere from 3 to 7+ parties. It's just at certain times we wait for those 7+ parties to get to an A, and maybe even a B if we're feeling generous and no other A is up. The majority of the day though, is like every other server's complaints I would imagine, once that first party reaches the mob they pull it and start fighting and everybody else has to rush there before it's dead just to try and get some credit. This generally happens when certain players wake up and get online, because obviously there are times of the day when the parties wait for others to gather before pulling.

Hell yes. SE fix it ASAP so I get full credit for doing nothing. Also increase rewards so I can tag something and get my weekly cap.

With a huge group there that wants to kill it and move on to the next thing, i am not worried of this happening. The benefits more than outweigh the one issue that might come up from this.
yesss, make them exactly like ATMA farming!
find a populate fate, run in, cast scathe, and onto the next fate!

    yay.
    brilliant.

I really want this too. I always get full reward on B and A ranks though, cause for a healer you simply need your party to be there in time and you are pretty much guaranteed to get full reward... But S ranks are a different matter all together.

On S ranks, a lot of players can't even see the enemy (me for example). If I manage to see him once and land a hit, I'm set, cause I can just do heals the rest of the fight... but with dps jobs in your group, they never seem to be able to get enough enmity for the whole party to get full reward. A lot of people get DC'ed too... So there needs to be a fix there, but they could just make it much easier for themselves, and reward everyone who have hit it once.
