    Repeated 90000 error

    First, Famfrit server.
    Second, I have Comcast (Xfinity).
    Third, Central Virginia

It's been happening pretty much once an hour the entire time I've been playing the game. Some days I can go a few hours before it starts, but if I get a few hours of uninterrupted play I can't stay connected for more than 5 minutes once it begins.

I've done some investigation to figure out why. My best guess is the game hates me. My ports are forwarded, and my DNS is set to Google's (8.8.8.8 and 2001:4860:4860::8888). I've set both the laptop I was playing on and my desktop (it won't stay connected more than 60 seconds to the server before I get 90000) to ping flood the router. Steady 2-3ms responses. I also set the laptop to continuously ping Famfrit's IP. Steady 30ms, even when everyone stopped moving and I was waiting for the inevitable 90K error, which came while not a single hiccup in my pinging happened. Last night it was so bad that I could log in, craft a single item, and then be disconnected, with massive lag spikes of up to 20 seconds during that time. All the while, my actual ping remained a steady 30ms. In summary, my ping data is coming back, but the sending/receiving info in the upper right of the HUD says receiving: 0. This tells me the server is no longer sending me game data.

It's not my network (I've run tests many, many times), and I'm not actually losing connection to the server according to my ping reports.

What is causing me to lose connection so frequently? The game is borderline unplayable. I am afraid to run duties, as I don't want to drop mid-dungeon.

Today I've had 5 90000 errors, all within the span of 5 minutes, the 5th one followed by a 2002 error.

I think it's time to get my money back.

I've been getting 90k errors for the past two weeks as well.
    My info:

    Playstation 4
    Mateus (via Aether)
    Comcast (xfinity) and Centurylink (Qwest)
    Washington State

My average download speed is 15 mbps, and I usually get about 13 mbps with Centurylink, and on Comcast, about 23 mbps download speed. I can log in and access the game from the launcher no problem. The first red flag happens when I open the Duty Finder menu and it doesn't load anything but the text "Obtaining Data." I usually have to close Duty Finder and re-open it a minute or two later.

I begin to experience chat lag and movement lag, but it is still possible to craft (after waiting for about 30-40 seconds per action). If it gets too bad, I get kicked off with a 90k error. I receive about 20-40 packages, but send nothing according to the network icon in game.

If I end up connecting to an instance through Duty Finder, I've got about three minutes before I get kicked with a 90k error.

Sometimes mine are also followed by 2002 errors, if I can even reconnect, which requires me completely closing and restarting the application.

The issues began a few days after Hunts launched.

Will this be fixed promptly? Is it even being looked into?

(Right before I DC'd in a dungeon today, someone else also complained about lag and getting dropped, so I know I'm not the only one, followed up by the replies on this thread.)

Just to be sure... exactly what IP are you testing against? Some people have gotten bad information from somewhere and are actually flooding a web server and not one actually used by their client. Just want to make sure you are hitting something at least in the right ballpark.

As for the PS4 users, PSN has been having issues for quite sometime now. It could be causing issues for those players because XIV relies heavily on that background connection on the PS4's.

And the bandwidth of your connection has nothing to do with your stability. Makes no difference if you have pipe wide enough to send a full Gbit/sec if your latency is way out in left field or you are discarding too many packets. In a large number of cases, this is a byproduct of overly congested segments. More people using the same wire you are on can cause these symptoms (not necessarily just XIV traffic either--it could be everyone in NYC is doing stuff and you are getting packed in with their traffic along your route to CA).

Just take a look at some of the reporting over at the downdetector site for some popular ISP's and web services (they track both PSN and XBL there, and a host of other stuff). You should quickly spot that there are certain regions consistently having issues:

    http://downdetector.com/companies

Without something like a tracert that provides a roadmap of your connection, it is hard to say one way or the other... but it's been well documented as a problem for years with a host of other games and online services. Markets are grossly oversold and under-maintained in the US, and it just keeps getting worse the more we depend on it for all manner of entertainment, education, first response, and business these days.

    [Edit:]
apparently, the tracking site has temporarily gone down itself... was up this morning. Can't even pull up the snapshot images they dump to another server periodically. Hopefully it will be back up soon.... some of their stuff is in VA, which has been having issues lately, as well as Austin, TX, Southern California, and various points in the north east and north/central US. Can't recall anything more specific than that, but this morning most maps had LOTS of big red splotches on them indicating massive outages being reported along some important corridors.

    Edit #2:
Well, looks like it's coming partially back up. PSN status page is showing some info, but many of the maps are still AWOL. Can add North Carolina to the list... big outages getting reported there. Looks like specifically TWC has <once again> dropped the ball up there.

Same, I have been having this problem since Tuesday, but unfortunately it hasn't gone away and today it's more frequent than ever. I am not positive if it's from their server, but I would recommend calling up your ISP and speaking to a Network Technician and run some tracerts to help diagnose where the latency is coming from. It's come to the point where the game is unplayable for me anymore -_-.

Are your's all pretty random when it happens?

I started getting 90k/90002 on Thursday. First time this has happened since the re-launch, for me.

But I only happens every hour, like clockwork. Like on Sunday it was every hour on the :45, Saturday was a different time every hour same with Friday. But I remember that Thursday was more frequent per hour maybe twice per hour (figured just because of the festival).

If I restart my modem it just changes the time at which I dc....
