How do you generate these codes?

Go to the recruit a friend system in the mog station. In there, you need to register a "friend's" email address. Use any address you like that you can check (can even be the same account you have connected to your account) and then go find the email it sends to that address. The code is stated in there. You can generate a new one every day, but they stay good for about 120 days if I recall correctly.
