Thread: Reminiscing of 1.0 Dungeons

I'm all for dungeons that you can explore at your own pace. Having a time constraint on everything makes it very hard to take in the ambiance of dungeons, this really irks me especially when you know the developers put a lot of time and effort into the scenery there.

I remember the old dungeons and they were nice but time consuming. Idk it's like good and bad I guess.

So sorry to ruin your joke, but Throium, Thallium, Palladium, Mercury, Uranium, Tungsten, Gold, Plutonium, Platinum, Osmium, Iridium.. are all more dense than lead (and that's not even a complete list as I ignored most man-made and/or theoretical elements and maybe a few natural elements besides).

What do you mean by "better"? For all I know, some ppl don't like it, especially DRG. I recall back then how many DRG complained how that job's role are being sidestepped on those dungeons.

I would be happy if they added some open world dungeons to explore. Multi layered caves and caverns or abandoned ruins and castles would be good. Throw in some random chests and keys dropped from mobs along with NMs and pop mobs linked to quests to give you a few reasons to explore them.

I love that feeling of stumbling across a random hole in a wall and wondering what's inside, then going in to discover it's a massive labyrinth with nasty beasties and treasure to be had.

Unless they were re-introduced.... you are bringing up dungeons from vanilla WoW.... from 2004. When it was more of a classic MMO. I was complaining back when TBC came out that all the instances were glorified hallways compared to previous dungeons (add Stratholm to the list, it had to entrances that intertwined).

Black Rock Depths owned, it had some many paths and options to choose from. It was literally a giant dwarf city.

Personally, I'd love to see something like Black Rock Depths in FFXIV. It was a huge dungeon that had some optional bosses if we went exploring, and all of them had viable loot tables. That place was really memorable just for the bar, which acted as a halfway point and rest stop in the middle of the dungeon.
