That IS the 'problem'. As has been stated, new account. Further, the games will never be linked, ever, due to China's internet information laws. The internet in China is under State control, with all the limits to information that comes with.
When I first looked at the mount, my first thought was that it looked like a reskinned and slightly altered model of Behemoth... and, reading what you wrote... it all makes sense. I remember reading about the changes that would need to be made to the Chinese version of the game to comply with laws over there, namely excluding certain things deemed inappropriate... and, of course, those things would need to be altered to fit players in that region.
Probably replace or re-texture or whatever it is. WoW has a good example of it. Look up pictures of "Lord Marrowgar" and then look for "Chinese Lord Marrowgar".
I am wondering how are they changing the Grid storyline...
