On full cooldown fight, I've never lost to any casters and SMN are easier to kill than BLM since I purify their dots before they fester. By the time they put dots back they're dead already.

I will assume you haven't met very good summoners. Where you bard?
in a full CD fight garuda buffed enkindle is almost enough to take down half hp of a bard. We also have um that attack that lowers attack range which can help out a lot

And while purify is the best counter to summoner, as long as we can use equanity (dont know the name of that one either) we can easily get dots back up. Using virus too to prevent some damage.

I think it all depends on when and how people utilize their cooldowns. And people who haven't played a lot of wolves den will not be as used to say one vs one fights.

I also forgot, fester isn't neccessary to beat bards or blms as long as garuda enkindle is up and the pvp skills. We have two instant attacks with 170 potency, which deals a lot of damage with a HQ intel pot and raging strikes on

dots and purify -> purify so you've to dots again. And it means a loss of uptime equanimity and just time aswell.
Except Virus you got close to 0, if not 0, defensive cooldowns when Bard got Second Wind which can crit to 1200. So basically I've a 5500 HP which I can't see being burned by a SMN without doing fester. And after 670 FL matches I've never seen any fester dealing more than 50% of my HP.
So if you've fester landing , yes there is a chance. But on full cooldowns fight if I don't mess up Purify I really don't think SMN will ever beat me.
Even if you use ur non-fester burst. I need 1 cycle of my rotation to kill any SMN which is done.

In term of skills, we got only instants skills when you got 2 + Garuda. We can silence to delay your rotation when you can barely do anything except stunning with Ifrit/Titan.
You've to do 2 dots rotations because of Purify when Bard needs only one with their burst rotation.
We can root you and furthermore having this root turning into a 10 stun if we don't stand in your sight and you don't purify it.
You can root us but good luck with standing close to a Bard who can Purify it or Blast Shot or Feint you to kite you.

To summarize, we've more selfbuffs to up damage. Only instant skills, can hide to break your cast, more control crowds, purify to counter fester, more overall potency, x-pots too and more HP.
So in term of single target output damage, bard > smn anytime only if fester is nulify ( which I did everytime )
In term of group fight smn > bard by far.
Bard can't compete against both caster during group fights anyway since we suck at AoE'ing and both get Bard's foe.

But, the best decoy WAS ( because 2.38 and no cleric stance anymore ) SCH. Can survive anything while killing people on 1v1. But Bard is pretty much top tier when it's about to get flag alone on 1on1. Which explain why I'm not that much above 100k dps now since I'm doing everytime the dirty work, which is getting Serpent/Flame or defending Storm while A or C are throwing themselves at Manor/Temple.

I would assume that overall SMN's can do the most damage overall, I've seen SMN's break 300k (them dots).

After CS nerf the max that I reached as SCH was 18.000, but I did only 4 FL, and one as BLM.
