It gives people the chance to get gear that they can't from coil. People want to grind out seals for hours on hunt.
I think everyone rages on forum when people get easier access that older players had to work for, but SE will continue to make higher gear easier to get.

IMHO, what people are currently missing from the Hunt because of the overabundance of zerg-style hordes is a feeling of accomplishment before anything else.

Overcoming A and S ranks should require a reasonable combination of wit, careful observation, patient learning and cooperation, giving players a chance to grow into their own and enjoy the outcome; while felling them down by means of sheer overwhelming pressure feels empty and dull.

Emphasis on "reasonable". To me, rewards should always be tools to do things with, instruments that disclose new possibilities, before being status symbols. We should allow our actions to speak for us (which always entails looking at other players as more than just their stats or achievements).

I don't feel cheated because people are getting i90 stuff in other ways. It's their prerogative to prioritize what they like and commit to, and I'm fine with a different approach, as long as all opportunities are treated fairly, without taking away from other parts of the game (dungeoneering, quests, Frontline missions, the works) and erecting barriers within the community.

This is the point to me, and the solutions (regulated hunting permits, daily/weekly caps, instancing and adjustments to the Marks themselves) should be a means to that end.

They need to stop just spoon feeding the casuals. Don't have time to learn dungeon? Here, let me nerf that for you. Don't have time to farm philo tomes? Here let me throw that in a nerfed dungeon. Don't have time to get myth/sold/sand/oil/learn your job/run coil/do ct/st/or any future content in the game? Here have The Hunt.

Hell they leveled thier classes to 50 on fates...might as well give them endgame gear with no skill too. Maybe that's why you see people in ST that are in 110 and don't know how to tank/or how to use transpose on blm/or how to heal...

Who does SE care more about? The 10% of community that has the time to be a hardcore player. Or, the 90% of community that is casual because real life is more interesting than game playing time.
SE is company out to make money, who generates more revenue in a system with no pay-to-win DLC? The 10% group or the 90% group?

FYI, I could not find any concrete numbers to depict a ratio of hardcore players to casual players but from experience the hardcore community is usually a much smaller subset of the whole.
The hardcore gamer, participates in game in all facets and invests significantly more time (and money) in the game than the casual.

Hahaha... Yeah, we have someone in our FC like that. But she hasn't taken the time to get the high level stuff, thank goodness. She's terrible!

Daily cap of 200 seals, and weekly cap of 1000 seals would work wonders. That's a good 10 rank A's to kill per day which won't take very long. If they add dungeon hunt mark and give you a reward of 50 seals, then people don't have to hunt outside all the time to hit the daily cap. This will put an average of 1-2 hours hunting per day and help with the congestion. Hunt is getting out of control as it is now.

So what happens when you can't find anyone to Hunt with you because everyone else has already reached their weekly cap within the first two days? You're stuck hunting B-Ranks that give an absolutely pathetic amount of seals compared to what things actually cost from the NPC.

Seriously doubt you cannot find 7 other people. Unless all you do is hunting all day long. The A train is not spawning every 30-45 mnts. Right now Hunt is the best thing to do reward-wise. Putting a daily cap will ensure more people actually do Hunt. But the upside is you are not dealing with 200 other people. More like 24-40 other people at the most. Once they hit daily cap, they move on. This will also reduce Hunt fatigue and make sure content cannot be spammed and spanked ASAP NOW!! Gimme everything!!

Last week on my Holidays I had some time over the day and joined a hunt party using the hunting.tk website. 5 hours later, I had 900 seals, had to buy craft materials because I reached the Myth cap and reached the Strat cap (have started with 0 strat tomes). In not even half a day. That's really too much in my opinion although it was nice to upgrade one of my armour items to 110.

Right now it is pretty unbalanced. If you just do your daily hunt, you get 7 seals per day; 49 per week. Plus the weekly one that provides 20 seals. So all in all for a casual hunter if he waits for all the stupid FATES, he will have 69 seals per week. So he needs TEN weeks for a single armour item. Three for an accesoire. Three weeks are fine but ten? Keep in mind that all 12 weeks there is a new major patch, probably introducing the next higher tier of ilevel Items.

In my opinion, hunting casually is not rewarding enough and hardcore grinding provides you with too much of everything. Seals, Myth, Strat. It takes under a minute to kill an A Rank but yet I receive 80 Myth and 10 Strat for it? Can't be right. And no wonder why so many people are dead serious about hunting and everybody and their mothers are doing it 24/7.

Yup - and you wonder why people have been quite vocal about Hunt destroying the game. The rewards is great, amazing and just too good, which is totally fine IF they adjust so that monster takes 3-5 minutes to kill which gives reasonable amount of time for most people to arrive and get credits. Also if they spread around the Allied Seals reward in Duty Finder dungeons, people are not pressured to do Hunts. You have to spend at least 20 minutes on middle level dungeons to get 70 seals, it only takes a mere seconds in Hunt.

And speaking of welfare give-away gears.... The First Binding Coil Bahamut 1-4 are rather super easy to farm. Why not make it extremely attractive with giving away more tomes and drops random oil-sand with low rates (or those logs/books). I rather have people farm this or crystal tower. At least they will be "trained" to get used to more mechanic. 1st Coil Gears are also pretty good alternate for level 90. We really DO need more horizontal progression gears so that players have TONS of option of ways to maximize stats. If only they put socketed materia options on those gears, it will make them more attractive to actually do dungeons.
