This game would be harder if they allowed one to impose an ilevel limit based on the bare min they offer for each event. The reason why every dungeon since the lv 50 cap is so much easier is because you can OP yourself with ease, in essence you're doing il70 dungeons in i90-100 gear, compared to say aurum Vale which was 47-49 so at most you could have maybe an ilevel of maybe 53.

So basically you have this in the current game.

Dungeons before 50 have a potential skew of 3-5 ilv dif from the recommended lv.

Content past 50 has the following:
il48-110= 62 potential dif in ilevel compared to the recomended
    il55-110=55
    il70-110=40

    ---

I wish they would offer a way to cap your il to the recommended rather than being able to overtune yourself for the content cause honestly, this game would be a lot harder, their past dungeons prove this. They prolly see how tough the dungeons are when they use gear that is set for il 70 but they fail to take notice that they have easily obtainable il100 gear as well as 80-90. To opportunity to exceed the limit is silly.

Now here's an idea, want the craft items to be removed from dungeons? Then you have to do the dungeons withonly a 5 il difference, aka you can /checkmark to impose the ilv limit in DF and then you can play the dungeon with 3 others that have the same handicap on. It not only makes the content more of a challenge but if they had the added benefit of guaranteed gear drop it would be killing 2 birds with one stone, you make old content tougher and you offer the reward of better loot compared to the craft loot that seems to drop more often.

So you can then decide the following:
If I want gear I impose the il limit
If I want mytho/soldier I fight at full force

Different options to play and honestly I doubt it be that hard for them to add this restriction into the game because they are alrdy able to do it with older dungeons, all they would need to do is set an attribute limit to x item level and when you are in that dungeon all your attributes would be set to that item level if you exceed the min item level.

Healing isn't any different on XIV, but feel free to link your armory so we can all see your heroic kills that were so easy.

I, too, fought Akylios pre-nerf and agree that it is probably the greatest example of a good, multi-phase fight where everyone had to work together. One tank didn't just stand there and stun, she had to be moving to the next tentacle (and don't think we don't see what you are doing with Hullbreaker, SE). Both tanks at the end had to be at the top of their game as you fought both Akylios and Jornaru and everyone else had to dodge waves, handle other mechanics... It was hard but one thing that rarely happened was the issue of lag that happens in this game, and it DOES happen no matter what some apologists who are lucky enough to have two hops directly to SE may say.

Adds meant something - they were bosses in their own right and weren't just random NPC's tacked on so the other tank had *Something* to do.

The problem with fights here is SE does not want to\know how to sit around a table, and take the extra time to really storyboard out an engaging fight. Instead they just code insta-death mechanics so they don't have to work hard at it, and that's going to be this game's downfall. Without strong end-game content that is challenging without being needlessly frustrating, the hard core crowd will move on to the next shiny thing. The casuals won't be able to do any content because SE doesn't know how to properly tier things, either, so they will dwindle. No one new will join because of the terrible reputation.

I don't think you understand the concept of players choosing not to better themselves and then complain all day on the forums about the content being too hard for them.

You're just an idiot and died? Game over.
Its something I got used to in AoC pre nerf and honestly it just doesnt bother me at all, takin in account that it was 24 men raids, not 8. ;p

Its a shame that these new dungeons are so easy due to the facts that
    A. Ilv 90 gear is easier to get
    B. Many people are slowly upgrading to soldiery gear sets.

There's PLENTY of dungeons that fresh 50s can go to. I just wish there is an ilv 90 +dungeon thats not coil.
