The Tonberry Tournament Content Royale, make it happen!

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to host an event on where we clear content with a lower item level, just like when they were out. Echo is out of the question, too!

That said, it wouldn't be just an ordinary fight, I'll put up a set of rules on it too.

First off, there is no Echo allowed. You are to turn it off upon entering instances that allow them.

Secondly, you will be limited to iLevel 70. Either from darklight, dungeon drops, or crafted, you decide. If you don't have any I will provide crafting services, for free. Just give me the materials.

Weapons may be as high as level 90, in the form of Zenith. Primal weapons shouldn't be used just for the spirit of the competition. Anything higher is not allowed, but lower is fine.

Thirdly, there is NO static party!

For the spirit of the event, I will have people cast ballots depending on the number of participants during the day of the event.

You may think, "what if I get paired with a newbie?!" But fear not, for this the minimum entry level is to have passed T5 AND the EX primals, without being carried. For the spirit of the competition, please be honest! We will check for achievements and ask you personally.

Now, what would a tournament be without a prize?




For the first prize, for the team with the least wipes each member of the team will get:

Savage Might IV Materia

Spring Dress

Spring Skirt

I believe it’s quite a fair game for the good fun, but depends on how many people joins we might ramp up the prize a bit

For the second prize, we’ll award everyone
Tonberry Furnitures, 1 piece for each member of the team.

For the third prize, it’ll be a
Quicktongue/Quickarm Materia IV.

I’ll charge an entry fee of 30.000 gil/person.

Now, as for the game itself,

We’ll start off with i70 gears, and then work our way up using the loot that we obtain from the dungeons.
The dungeons to be challenged are:
The Howling Eye (Extreme),
The Navel (Extreme),
The Bowl of Embers (Extreme),
The Whorleater (Extreme),
Thornmarch(Extreme),
The Binding Coil of Bahamut: Turn 1
The Binding Coil of Bahamut: Turn 2
The Binding Coil of Bahamut: Turn 4
The Binding Coil of Bahamut: Turn 5

The victor will be determined from the amount of wipes upon clearing all 9 dungeons.
You will be allowed to wear only the loot that dropped from the dungeons you cleared, so allocate your drops wisely!
You may choose to tackle the content in any order you please.

I will be accepting participants from now until the 17th of August, and we’ll hold the event on the 22-24th of August. I understand that depends on people’s availability and the length of those contents, we might not be finished in one day so we’ll split it up into a few days. (tentative time)

We'll hope it all turns out well and have one person from each team that can stream, so it'll all be fair game!

Additional plan:

If we ever get to finish all the events before the sunday, we'll hold a session to "help" people who has been struggling to pass EX primals or Turn 5. But you have to carry your own weight! Not going to promote win carries here, but if you are close and experienced and just needed that final push, I'll be glad to help. We're not planning to bring a total newbie in, but if you feel you've been doing your best and haven't found a decent party to down it with, this is where you should look!

And on top of it all: Please stay positive and helpful, no poisonous attitude allowed.

(P.S. If there's not enough participants by the promised date, I'll have to cancel the event. I'll probably quite realistically target 128 people to join, which is 16 groups.
P.P.S If you've got Japanese friends, or can speak Japanese, please invite them too! It'll be good fun for everyone! Or create a translated post if possible! )

Just to point it out, Turn 5 requires an ilevel of 82 I think? (surely above i70), there's no way all 8 members of a team can reach the required ilevel to enter T5.
"why, just wear normal equip, enter the instance, and swap back, easy!!".

Which brings us to another issue...without a spectator mode, how would you ensure nobody changes equip once they're in the instance? o.o

Ideally, I would love there to be a streamer for each group.. For the spirit of competition, let's hope we can arrange that.

For the T5 requirements, it does seem like a problem indeed.. I guess it would probably be fair to have.. let's say, 2 reserve i90 items/person that will be used once the group is going to challenge T5.
It'll be ok to equip them, as there might be silly issues like tank not getting enough gears to survive a DS.

What I'm after is not some very harsh environment, but an equal playground where it's fun for all to participate! Hoping for more people to be interested!

Btw, the time is still tentative, if you have an interest to join state your availability within the month of August and I'll take that into consideration
