    Hunt strategy for solo players?

I've seen a lot of 'fix for hunts' and 'hunts are broken' threads, but unfortunately it seems a solution like that won't come along any time soon. So as someone who generally plays on their own, I thought a thread to help similar people would be useful.

Anyone have any tips for people trying to grind for Allied Seals on their own that doesn't involve linkshells or sitting around waiting for someone to find a mark? So far my only strategy is to wait until most people in my data center are asleep so there's a better chance. I mean early this morning I found Leech King while doing a main scenario quest and called out but only ~7 people came to help, despite being one of the more generally populated regions.

Please give actual suggestions, and not "get friends lol". That's not what this is about.

I don't think there's much advice to give.. There's very little you can do. There's only one advice and you already gave it; try to find hunt marks nobody else knows about.

Otherwise, no matter what, if even one full party is hitting the mark you find, you'll probably only get a few seals. In any other instance, you'll only get the lowest possible reward. Nothing you can really do about it if you're alone.

Know that you won't get full credit most of the time.

Open party finder, and join a party. You don't even have to socialize with them beyond announcing if you find a mark, their contribution will add to your contribution. So long as a few people are hitting it (best to go whm and/or tank for enmity and not make it die faster) you'll get full credit.

Look in the party finder for a hunting party, join and enjoy your seals/tomes/sands. It's really that easy. As a solo hunter you will never get enough contribution to make it worth, or find enough marks. In an hunting party, depending on how much time you want to hunt, you'll almost always be killing some B ranks until As spawn. At least on Odin.

If you are a tank and at the pop from 100%, you can get full credit.
But Hunt is not meant for solo.

Personally I think it is easier to join or make a Hunt LS than switch your time table upside down.

Sitting around waiting for hunts to happen sounds horrible. For better or worse I'm not at the point where I want/need to do that.

I've done plenty of solo activities lately where I'll just run into a B or A Elite Mark and just call it out like you said. I just wait for the 2min pull by one of the stronger joiners. btw, if some wierdo pulls early can we just let him die? xD Y'know not revive him until its dead..

I'm not real clear on what causes a reset and how to prevent it, so if anyone has tips about that too, it would be good to know.

Shout for a party, just don't waste the stress of trying to get credit solo- not even worth trying then. If more than a few people are around this is your only viable option. Be warned that those few people could be shouting/linkshelling for half the server to come down and reset the monster too.

Would be nice to see some hunt monsters go into leve's that can be scaled, or back in beta I was hoping for both the systems in FFXII (how i wish hunters was) and a system akin to FFIX/FFX with monster hunting and gathering turned arena. There is some fun managing the network and monsters with the current hunt system, but the zerging as with all FATE like content makes it no fun combat wise, just spray and pray spray and pray.

With the current system and popularity, get in a party. When the content is dead you can solo some low ranks, but because of the "hotfix" now unless they revert the band aid you will still need to... get in a party. lol

I'd have to disagree with all of the people saying you won't get full rewards if you're solo and there's a bunch of full parties fighting a mark. I've done that multiple times without any difficulty. If you're going to try to help, don't spread false information.
