Duel Wielding?

Is there a possibility for there to be duel wielding for the paladin?

Maybe if they give an alternative job like Summoner/Scholar has for Arcanist. Besides that, IDK why you'd want to lose your shield. Further, if they made a 2 sword wielding Job for Gladiator, I'm willing to bet that they would just make it one weapon that you equip in the weapon slot, and it just shows 2 swords, like Ninjas and Monks have.

Don't hold your breath. The animations would have to be entirely redone, because one moves completely differently with a second sword than one would with a sword and shield. They haven't seemed all that eager to redo any already-completed content, and even Ninja's dual wield is really just one weapon that happens to be in both hands. I don't expect to see a true dual wield in this game; maybe in Final Fantasy XIX.

It won't happen - at least, not on PLD anyway, given the fact PLD's whole ability style revolves around the use of a shield, and thus dual-wielding swords would be paradoxical to that. Having said that, in 1.0's original incarnation of the Armoury System (where there were no Jobs and any class could equip any ability), it seemed GLA was being set up to perhaps allow the use of dual wielding swords (as the use of a shield was a separate sub-class called 'SEN' which piggybacked onto GLA), so another dual-wielding sword class could be possible for GLA at a later date.

But it's unlikely.
