Found an A mark last night and a couple parties showed. Not 16 people. I found it and asked for an invite. None in PF. It was about 4:30 AM ET, so the central shroud was dead and I was just waiting for a fate to pop to complete my daily hunt marks. Almost ran right into the mark. Shouted 3 times and gave 4 minutes to pull. I knew I couldn't defeat this myself, so it was either wait for others or just let it pass. Anyway, after a few shouts, people showed up and no invite. Then one says, "Pull in 3 seconds." So, I pulled right then. Then I dragged the mark into the middle of them and ran out, watching them all kite him like beginners. 3 healers, 3 healers and a pile of DPS and you can't keep this guy still? Really? Then I came in and pounded for a few tomes and completed my hunt marks for a couple more. SE needs to account for situations where people are not in a party and can't get into one at times. I honestly understand why this might happen, it was late (or early) and there are few people online. I'd killed 3 B marks with patience and a chocobo by that point after shouting and waiting 4 minutes each time. It's not their fault that they were full when hunting atma or waiting to start a trial or something. But it left me out. Just frustrating, that's all.

    Eliminating Hunts

I'm sorry but this is a step back into FFXIV days. This standing around waiting for pops "camping" is the worst thing possible. Nevermind, the "ease" people speak about rewards.

I would have preferred a "new tier" of beastmen tribe quests that require parties of 8 players(this is a compromise...I can't stand parties events either). Killing old mobs to fill the area maps with players is a waste of time.

The "new tiers" would feature a simple pop dynamic with "boss/nm's". Rewards can be exactly the same as Elite hunts now, but without the waste of time camping.

I used to play FFXIV, get what I wanted and move on to another game within a given night. Now, Im standing around waiting for Fates and NM pops...easily two hours wasting standing around

Take Myth and Soldiery out of the Hunt rewards and slightly increase the Allied Seals you get from kills. Killing Marks will still be worth the time but the entire rest of the game will no longer be obsolete.

When I am not hunting myself, I disable the screaming chat. What people are posting is 100% vicarious embarrassment. Early pull, wait plz, inv plz..can't read that crap anymore. Somebody will always be too late just like there are enough ppl who do not give a crap about others and pull the mob in under a minute after Spawn.

You know, i was going to agree with the people that say the hunts are making content obsolete... Not just because the tomestone and seal drop rates far outpace any other method, but also because it's harder to get groups to take on extreme challenges than before.... So many people just want to zerg hunts...

BUT, maybe we're looking at it the wrong way... Now the people who join a titan extreme group will be the ones who want challenges, and want to face difficult mechanics.. Not just get easy stuff, but DO something with it. The people who do join now are probably less likely to need carried, and are more likely to prepare for challenges.

If it keeps lazy people out of my titan extreme group, then gogo hunts!

First everyone fate ground because it was the "best" way to level, but they didn't know their class, and some missed class quest skills.

Now we will have hunt grinders with goosed ilvl who won't know the endgame. You can't stop people from taking the easy carry route.

Perhaps my server is just not as populous as some of yours, but from what I've seen of these hunts, it's gotten people out and exploring the world again. Pre-hunt, most high-level players were more like to stick around Rev's Toll waiting for queues to pop or god knows what, but now they are out and about. I figure that the novelty of the hunt will wear off soon, and you will see people gradually start to drift back to the more traditional content, but I don't see it as some world-ending blunder. Once people started to get more organized, we have people forming parties and linkshells, bridging free companies, and interacting with each other far more often than I did before. Occasionally there are trolls that pull early or ragers that scream about what's fair or not, but most of the time, we are willing to be considerate of others.

As for the gripes about how easy it is to get gear, maybe they do need to tweak some things, but it will always be the case that with patches and updates, "green is the new purple." Sorry that you feel it cheapens the game for you, but you can't expect the developers to allow the achievement gap between casual gamers and hardcore raiders to widen over time. Most of their income is going to come from the subscriptions of people who may not be skilled enough to complete the newest content within the first few months and reap the rewards of those raids.

As for the OP's assertion that most of his FC had quit, and that he was soon to follow; am I to understand that because other people have a new toy to play with, that you yourselves can't just play on your own? I thought the point of having FCs with static raid groups was that you could play through high level content without the worry of pugging with FATE-tanks and blizz-mages, or waiting on long queues. Can't you queue for dungeons with people from your FC? If the numbers in your FC are lacking for this, recruit, or join a new one with like-minded people. It seems silly to quit a game because of what other players are choosing to pursue.

    Completely agree.

Myth and soldiery have no place in hunts. remove those rewards. and nerf allied seals given
    B rank 5.
    A rank 10.
    S rank 25.
    that's IT.

ATM it takes 1! S rank to almost completely gear out your character to ilvl90. why bother doing dungeons or trails or anything else for that matter?

People are hunting so much to get il110. Simply cap logs and the zerg will die down.

The situation on Balmung has become beyond awful.

A-ranks being pulled basically 5 seconds after they spawn. Absolutely zero chance of anyone getting in on it who wasn't basically already on top of the mob when it spawned. Of course, this is by intended design, but what's not intended is the incredible amount of rage and indignation from the hundreds (yes, HUNDREDS) of other players who couldn't get in on the prize. It basically creates a massive source of inequity, and as we should all know VERY well by now, any inequity that is seen as unjustified will cause immense amounts of social unrest.

And really, who wants to spend hours running around all over the bloody place getting absolutely nothing for their efforts because of circumstances beyond their control? Ugh, it's just disgusting all around. This could have been foreseen by anyone with a lick of sense, ESPECIALLY after seeing the inclusion of the logs as drops and purchases. It's insane.

I've spewed loads of bile over this failed "feature" and it seems I will continue to be spewing untold amounts of bile for a huge amount of time to come, unless they actually FIX things in 2.35. There is literally no feature in all of FFXIV's long history, not even the horribly laggy interface or the crazy vendor system from 1.0, that caused me this much sheer rage and hatred. There are things that make me throw up my hands and go "oh, well!", but this is the ONLY thing that makes me actually want to gouge out someone's eyes and throw them into the abyss for producing such a travesty.

    Please fix, kthx~
