While yes that is true, a pet who only misses a couple times is only losing literally a couple dps. Its more important to just have yourself capped and add more damage for you.
Det IV on my server is at 650-800K. That's about how much I would spend on the entire Accuracy set lol
Also secondary stats are a bit easier to push around. I can exchange accuracy on another piece of gear instead.
Really the bonus to Novus is that it avoids the typical stat weights, so maxing out Det or Piety allows you to get the most out of your weapon. For instance, take a look at Unweathered Book of Spades vs. Crit/Det Novus. You can add in 13 more points of crit. That's significant, but is it 10 mil gil significant? Up to you...
I just mean its usually a better idea as smn to not worry about pet acc cap in general. For price though and if your doing novice it probably isn't a bad choice or you can change another piece from something that had acc to something that has 2 dmg stats.
That's actually been discussed before and proven wrong. Pet accuracy cap is more important than a few more determination and crit.
Our groups summoner tested and his pet would miss 2 or 3 times during fights non accuracy capped. If you can add 15 or 20 det or something over the course of a fight your going to do a lot more damage then your 3 missed pet attacks.
Pure anecdotal evidence and conjecture. 15 to 20 Determination is an approximate of 2-3 DPS which is half a percent increase on a 430 average DPS. People give way too much credit to secondary stats.
It's been calculated and pet accuracy trumps pathetic amount of secondary stats gain. If you want to believe otherwise and live in denial, be my guest.
