Why are elite hunts so valuable? What are the devs thoughts?

Daily and Weekly marks need to be worth more cause at this time, they're not even worth doing. Dailies are a joke with how low the rewards are, at least the weekly is equal to a A rank kill in terms of Allied Seals. And once the models disappearing is fixed (hopefully), it won't be so bad to keep up with S ranks.

The weekly is horrible. I killed it and got 1 seal. I guess I didn't kill it enough to get credit for the bill.

While it certainly isn't a cure-all, you can always wait till next week and complete it...then you can pick up the next bill and start it right away. I was able to do that with last week's mark because he was nowhere to be found then. Now he's relatively easy to come across because he isn't in high demand. :P

At first I thought it was broken, but then I realized it's a good direction. Your reward for having the latest gear is last turn of coil for that patch's progression. If I can beat it before the Echo comes up, I'm plenty happy, that's reward enough for me. Even if it gets trivialized the next patch, but this way both casual and hardcore will be happy. Probably not the extreme ends though, but that's another case.

Reading about the hunts before I hit 50 I was completely against them. I though "how could they completely wreck gearing by making it that easy?"However, I hit 50 last week and to an extent I can now see why they have done it. As a fresh 50, there isn't a great deal of guidance to say what you need, or how to go about getting it. Simply a "congrats, you finished the MQ, now off you pop" (unless I've missed things). Doing some of the quests, I find myself gated by ilvl without a clear indication how to improve.

Hunts on the other hand (which I've not yet started) will give me the opportunity to get gear so that I can participate in the content. In another mmo I play, when they gave a fresh set of raid gear to new 50s, it was a sign that the level cap was increasing soon to get everyone to a similar level.
