Class Quests and SP Gain (or in my case, the lackthereof)

I recently completed the rank 30 Weaver quest "Dancing the Night Away" and did not receive any skill points on completion. I thought that all quests would now give sp, and expected a nice amount for completing storyline quest for my class.

Was this an oversight or is this working as intended? If it is intentional, then why? I had to complete 4 successful parlays and travel back and forth several times between cities in order to complete this quest. Surely that should merit sp if other much less time consuming quests do receive sp.

Some players on DoW classes have reported sp gains for completing class quests. Are only DoW/M classes receiving sp for such quests?

I just did the rank 36 THM quest and received no SP, but I did receive 36,000 gil and 3,600 guild marks. These are class quests, not sidequests. I don't think any of the class quests regardless if they are DoW/DoM/DoH/DoL grant SP. The story quests and guild company quests seem to, though.

I'm a crafter as well and it would be nice to receive SP for the class level quests as well. The guild marks also help, but other guildleves grant both marks and SP. As such, it only makes sense that class specific quests should grant SP in addition to marks

As far as I know the class quests don't give SP. I've done the GLA 30 quest recently and just did the PGL 20 quest and didn't receive sp for either.

I also wondered about this. I was surprised when completing the MRD 36 class quest and not recieving any sp. Especiall since the patch notes say:

"[dev1085] Main scenario and class quests will now reward skill points upon completion.
NPCs offering quests which grant skill points as a reward can be identified by the blue exclamation marks over their heads."

Class quests giving sp would indeed make sense, seeing as they seem to want to reward a lot of different activities with sp.

Sorry for the confusion regarding this, but this is indeed working as intended. Unfortunately, it looks like a slight translation error crept into the patch 1.18 notes about this, which we'll work to get corrected.

Skill points are granted for completing main scenario quests and sidequests. The reason that class quests don't offer SP is due to the fact that it was intended for classes that were offered the quest to earn the SP, but since the system currently is not set up that way, we decided not to have them grant SP. We're working to improve the system going forward.

Class quests never gave SP in the first place...

Local guildleves give the SP reward to the proper class even if turned in by a different class. I fail to understand how that same mechanic isn't implemented for the class quests to prevent people from obtaining the SP on a different class.

I'm probably grasping at straws at this point, though.
