    Not enough sword + magic. Too many spells and abilities, too. I can't really wrap my brain around why you'd give the job Refresh when it was the downfall of the job last time. That said, my sig, yadda yadda.

    I admit that with classes being what they are, it is very difficult to make a hybrid design split evenly between melee and magic, but I personally don't want to see a return of what effectively ruined RDM for me.

    Except this paradigm didn't work in FFXI because by nature MMORPGs encourage focusing on a particular role. The aesthetic and base concept of the RDM stays the same (pimp hat, sword-wielding magic user) but the mechanics and approach to the job has to be different for it to actually work.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
