If there's a post I would like to dislike the most, this is one.Greetings,
After speaking with the development team, we were informed that allowing gear to be dyed more than one color would double the data for a single piece of equipment. This would also require changes to the equipment system itself, so we do not have any plans at the moment to make it possible to dye gear two different colors.
Vote to redo dyeing a la GW2's
Remove dye information from gear itself and give each gearset a set of dye channels that will apply to whatever equipment is loaded onto it. Map the dye specified to whatever gear is equipped.
Lol, I know right? I thought of dying it blue to make colors match...
... but then I noticed the sash at the waist of Sailor's bottoms stays red ._.
You'd think they'd at least bother keeping a pattern.
It's also impossible to match the color of undyable parts of many pieces of gear.
Goldsmith for example got light blue patterns which you can't dye and which you can't match.
These undyable parts limit the choices when dyeing stuff, because alot of color combinations would look awkward.
(emphasis mine)Greetings,

So? Who cares how much it would increase the data for a piece of equipment? What does this matter in the modern day?
Is this a "PS3 Limitation" again? Maybe you shouldn't have wasted your time and resources in releasing the game for PS3 when the PS4 was so close to being released.
If I found out this IS due to PS3 limitations, oooh there's gonna be hell to pay.(emphasis mine)

Comments like this make me wonder how any of your devs keep their jobs with how little forward planning they do to allow for changes to the infratructure of a game, that is, itself, constantly changing........
Almost any MMO player would tell you that being able to customize their characters is highly important to them, and its like SE didnt even fathom this would be the case. The fact that the Glamour system wasnt in game at launch pretty much proves how little insight SE has to their playerbase mindset. Sure, they added it in after, but it should never have been an afterthought in the first place imho.
Sometimes I wonder if SE is deliberately trying to drive people away.
It's not really a lack of planning so much as an attempt to save on hardware/storage, I'd imagine.<boggles>

That is essenitally the excuse given for a number of bad decisions we've seen so far, and I'd expect the actual reason behind a number of others.
Granted, in this case, I could see that being so with the current systems in place for gear dyeing; I just don't believe the current systems need to be maintained.
What do they mean "double that data"? We already had a dev comment about how it's difficult to save PvP attributes for different jobs. This because how the PS3/4 works (limited memory). If this is because of the PS3/4 again, I really start to think these consoles are holding back the game.
Now before you start your console vs PC war, think about it. Did SE really not foresee this matter? To me it does sounds like lack of planning. The simplest of things can not be done.
