Atma/Animus quest question.

So I've been doing my Atma books with my BRD, but the job bores me to oblivion...so I stopped at the 5th book. I'm leveling MNK atm and I'm loving it, and I plan on doing the relic quest with it. My question is, if I get the Spharai Atma and start my Atma books with the MNK, I suppose I won't lose all my atma books progress with my BRD right? Or do I have to finish first all the atma books with my BRD in order to start with my MNK books?

You have to finish any books already in possession or drop them in order to start new books. But you do not have to finish all 9 brd books.

Well I finished my 5th book with my BRD, but didn't buy a new one, so I guess that means I can get my MNK atma and start working on my atma books and once I'm done with MNK Animus I can go back to BRD and buy my 6th book right? If I understood well.

As far as I know there's no limitation to working on two Animus weapons at the same time. Just be aware, you need to talk to the Miqo'te NPC with the specific Atma weapon you want to work on enhancing.
(You will, however, lose any progress on your current book if you didn't finish it, so make sure you do that.)
