Indeed, then we have things like the minion log that gives you details on the minion pets. THey definitely have some sort of plan for them, but doesn't look like they're telling just yet.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
I second this. If I were second, I mean. Anyway, vote yes. Want my Tonberry face stab.

Minions having more interesting and varied attacks than players.
I don't know why but I feel I'd enjoy this more than the real game.

I agree to this idea would be an amazing feature and you would get so many people trying to collect all the minions. It would also boost the economy considering minions come from dungeons, gardening, maps and other activities!
Exactly. An Onion Minion team would be fearsome lol.
Pokeball, go!
Oh... the wrong game?
No, not any more! Make it so..
Just a friendly bump for exposure.
C'mon SE!! We want stuff.... Pay attention to us!!!![]()
Gotta Catch 'em all?
The only way I could see them doing this is if they kept it REALLY simple...because the amount of work and data it would take to give each minion unique skills and animations would be enourmous, considering how many there are already, and would make adding new ones more difficult.
That said, a basic rock-paper-scissors type battle system with three or four generic skills, using preexisting animations as much as possible, could be doable? Something like the duels from the Suikoden series, so you'd have Attack > Defend > Special attack > Attack, and then maybe a Limit Break.
