Uhhhh....yeah.... 4 savage might IV materia fails in a row at 88% chance, so It definately sucks.

And this is because, you know, SE rigs the Market Board... Players really aren't going to be crazy enough to charge that much for materia. Or wait... >.>
SE built in a fair system, it's not their fault if the Free Market economy of the Boards as set by the player-base causes that failure percentage to destroy your wallet.
I still giggle when people bring this up, because the ones complaining clearly never experience the pain of failing on 10+ hot hearts of magic.
R N GEEEEE
I failed my last DET meld 6 times. That was 2.1mil down the drain. I failed before that too. I'd guesstimate around 4mil in fails overall, even if I didn't buy all my materia. I didn't complain though. Gave me a good rush of adrenaline once I actually completed my Novus.![]()
That'd be a fair compromise R.
As much as I wasn't too pleased that melding materia was the next step in the relic quest, I honestly wasn't surprised and don't find a problem with it. People wanted weapons that only the hardcore players would go to extremes to get, and, while this part of the quest doesn't really seem too hardcore compared to obtaining T9 weapons (especially if you have the gil and time to do Novus), there really isn't anything wrong with it. RNG is RNG...some people get lucky with it and some don't. I honestly think this quest was supposed to encourage us to spiritbond our own materials to get the higher tier materia if we so desired those kinds of stats for our weapons. Sure, some people don't have the time or patience to spiritbond, but if you don't have the gil to just buy the materias, then that's an easily accessible option.
I agree OP.
I was so very pissed the other day. I was on to Piety IV materia for my white mage Novus. I went in to infuse with an 80% success rate, and still lost it. That's a lot of money completely gone to waste.
80% success rate is 80% success rate, not 100% success rate...
How are the prices on Famfrit anyway? Piety IV was at most 20k/each for my Thyrus Novus...
