What's really frustrating with spiritbonding is that you get a very high chance of getting primary attribute materia's/elemental materias and those are useless. Everything is RNG. You can craft a whole set, left/right of DoW/DoM gear and every single one converts into lightning/water/fire materia, that is aggravating to say the least, whereas someone else doing the same thing walks away with Savage Aim III and IV's. It can get really discouraging

Yes, I understand that. I got a buttload of fire 4, ice 4, etc. xD "DAMN YOU RNG GODS!" It's still a cheaper way to slowly get your Novus, regardless.

Could try your luck with transmutation if you have so much useless tier 4 materia. Even if you don't get the one you want, what you end up with might be sellable.
