He was talking about the spirit bond system in general and I have to agree with him.

It's weird design that I have to deliberately gimp my character in order to get a shot at a class IV materia, because I can't convert the blue gear I normally wear.
But I guess they have to create a demand for ilvl 90 greens somehow...
