How much does a Novus cost?

More specifically, how much does does a Curtana Novus (and shield) cost on average? I wouldn't mind knowing how much the other weapons cost too as my friend is working on his Axe-Novus.

Any crafted armor I should sport in order to spiritbond if it makes it easier?

This is HIGHLY dependent of the Server you're on. And the Materia prices there. Novus Shield will more than likely be cheap since it will not require any LV IV Materia. Sword on the other hand COULD be upwards of 2-4M depending on the types of Materia you put in. However, it's like I said.. All depends on the Server and if it's Legacy or not.

Really nothing if you harvest all items to craft and spiritbind things for materia. I myself have 33 Crit and 20 Det so far on scroll for smn and probably out close to a couple mil but have not messed with the 4's as they are crazy high price.

Always hate to be that person, but everything has a cost. If you sold the materia that you obtain from SBing, you could be making X amount of gil.

So while SBing your own gear truly is the best way to go about it as it will save you a TON, that Novus is still costing money as you're using materia that you could have otherwise sold.

For Spiritbinding assistance, there is a lot of GC Jewelry that would certainly help!

    Wrists:

Tipping Scales Bracelet / Crimson Standard Bracelet / Lily and Serpent Bracelet - Achievement Item (Complete 500 GC Levequests, whichever item you get depends on your GC)
    Patriot's Bracelet - GC Quartermaster

    Ears:

Tipping Scales Earring / Crimson Standard Earring / Lily and Serpent Earring - Achievement Item (Complete 500 Supply Missions. Whichever item you get depends on your GC.)

    Fingers:

Meteor Survivor Ring - Quest Reward (Camp Bronze Lake: "The Adventure of the Fainting Goldsmith")
Tipping Scales Ring / Crimson Standard Ring / Lily and Serpent Ring - Achievement Item (Complete 200 Provisioning Missions. Whichever item you get depends on your GC)
Aetheryte Ring - Crafted Item (Goldsmith, Level 50, 1-Star Craft, 1x Water Cluster + 1x Rose Gold Ingot)

    Head:

Gambler's Crown - Achievement Item (Successfully Affix 5 Materia to the same piece of gear.)

This is HIGHLY dependent on your server and stats/materia prices. For blm on Balmung - Crit/Det build this straight cost w/ no spirit binding novus would have cost me ~10 million.

It all depends on how you want to insert the materia, and how much of a stat you want from that said materia.

You can go Parry, Accuracy, Determination, Critical Hit, and Skill Speed.

You can check the stats of the Burtgang + Noct Hoplon and High Allagan Sword + Shield to give you an idea about how you can fit this Relic into a rotation.

Chances are you might get these iLvl115 one day.

You need to think about the future as well. 3rd Coil might give iLvl125 and then your next Relic upgrade iLvl120. Then we don't know if we can manipulate again the stats even higher, or to reset them before proceeding.

Next: the prices of Materia on your Famfrit Market Board.

    It varies from Server-to-Server.

AS well, you can either just meld up to materia grade 3, it would cost less. Would it be your weapon to play with? Up to you to decide.

Burtgang offer 22 Acc and 22 Determination on top of STR and VIT, which you cannot change.

So you can use this as your 'Determination' weapon.

Next the goal is High Allagan Blade so far.

    ACC 23, Crit Hit 33.

So that would be your 'Crit' Sword.

That said, it made me decide to get one with 'Parry' and ACC of course, so that I would be able to mix them.

You do the same for your Shields.

In the end you might stick with iLvl115 and then adjust your armor to match the T9 requirements.

Lastly yes - try to get materia from spiritbonding, and perhaps mixing 5 materia of the same grade to have luck.

    Good luck with it.

As others have noted, totally dependant on server, what skills you going after, the extent to which you play in the materia IV world (or go for more than two stats to minimize IVs), and how much you are going to produce yourself through spiritbonding (though the opportunity cost issue is real). That said, tanking novus costs are probably less than DPS novus, as no one else will be competing for those parry materia.
