Love it or hate it, the way XI did it was pretty beautifully done aside the drop rates. Stuff can come from regular monsters in raids or special monsters or an end chest - Basically nothing that would force you into one "spot" then leave, the whole raid has something. Sure you'd skip some more annoyin NMs (because they'll wreck face), but you don't skip entire raids after you kill 1 monster unless it's the boss itself, e.g skipping unnecessary farming to go kill Dynamis Lord/Arch Dynamis Lord.
Heh could you imagine someone winning Assassins Armlets 5 mins into a Dyna Xarc then immediately dropping Hourglass? Or someone dropping Hourglass because their HNMLS was holding Faffy?
The fallout would be pretty...lol, it won't end well for that person, no matter where they try to flee to after the whole server spreads the word. Times definitely have changed.

If the Assassin's Armlets were ninja-lotted, I could totally see it - and dropping linkpearl as well. This is the stuff that prime popcorn-munching internet drama is built off of. XD
I could see the Faffy example, happening, as well, but most likely as part of an arrangement the player made with the Dynamis shellholder ("I'd love to be part of your Dyna LS, but I gotta be faithful to the HNMLS I'm already in - is it okay if I drop out of a run to help out if window opens during a run?" "Sure, that's fine, as long as you're not a critical role like healer or tank. You won't get LS points for that run, though, that okay?" "Yeah, that's fair. Thanks!")
Do a guild run

making leg issue a player's fault it's really bad.
most of the timers, i play without problems.
If during a dungeon, I get lag spikes that makes me play bad, why should I get kicked?
I'm the first who abandons ST when I see i lag and can't play, but getting kicked from a dungeon because I didn't avoid that AoE because of the lag, it's plain rude.
I KNOW that sometimes I get latency issues. so what should I do, never use the duty finder ever again, because I'm wasting someone's time?
srsly.
from what 16bitBounty wrote, that player died during the last boss.
he was't carried by the others for the entire dungeon.
so why don't just suck it up and end the dungeon, at this point?
yesterday I've done an Aurum Vale run as a Healer, wher the tank was always getting targeted by the last boss bad breath.
I kicked him? I abandoned the duty? no. I continued healing, and cleared the dungeon.
someone just have to realize that not every run goes smooth and fast as they want.
Did you see my badge? I'm a professional!

Simply, make it so that you can never claim the loot until you clear the whole dungeon. You may get them first during the run, but it never go into your inventory until the dungeon is cleared. Many hunting kind of game do this to prevent people from doing a little and reset out. This would also fix mythology run and other too. Mainly all the reward is to be claimed only if you clear it whole.

@Hiruke:
Point is: you cannot complain about your party when PUGgin'
I think there's more to this story, guys, than we're really letting on.
I often frequently get tanks who leave my dungouns after the first boss. At first, I thought it was a glitch, so I unplugged my internet modem to turn it off and turn it back on. I expected my tank and party members to be ready and more willing when I came back, however, it never seemed to change anything - the tanks would always drop after the first boss. I began to think this was the way the game was meant to be played - maybe something just happened to tanks after that first boss? But I really wanted to see more, so I kept going.
As I continued deeper, every now and then, I would see something - a flash would be used, but none of us were outside of our Jobs. Sometimes you'd see the Circle of Scorn motion raining down blood from the roof...? As I walked, I could hear this sound of multiple slashes resembling Savage Blade going off constantly...
We finally reached the second boss. And what I saw, I almost couldn't believe. There was my tank, standing and waiting for me - but he was different. He no longer had a head! I began to freak out. Boss battle music began to play, and he charged at me with his weapon! We started to fight the tank, but our attacks had no effect on him. The entire time, there's an NPC who shared our image in the middle, suffering constant attacks and coming closer and closer to death. The moment he died, the fight just... ended, and we were awarded loot. Tank drops? Why must the server mock us when we don't even have our tank? We've been working hard up to this point, but I guess we'll just have to continue to go if we want to clear this...
By this point I'd of expected to get a new tank by now, but all there is, is the persistent 'readying duty...' marker over in that right corner. I swallowed nervously, because now that the body had dissapeared, it stated that we were at 3/4ths our tank. I wasn't sure what to make of this, and the wierdness continued. Every now and then, while fighting mobs, we would see some oddness - some would use the tank skills. Rampart, Sentinal, even HOLLOWED GROUND was used at one point and we just couldn't do any damage to it. We had to start running to get away from some of these mobs, or else we'd never be able to win...
We finally got to the last boss, and much to our horror, it was the HEAD OF OUR TANK. Floating there. He gave a hollow smile to us and said "Thanks for waiting for me while I was afk"... I could feel my heart beating in my chest as he started to slowly approach me, to come towards me with that sense of dread...
I didn't know what would happen, so I turned off my game, completely. Square, please, FIX THIS DUNGOUN.
