I posted in one of the item forums about being able to dye racial gear but I would like to post it here, along with an addition to the post, for better exposure in the hopes it gets added in a future patch. (Original Thread)
In the video for the Lightning Returns Miqo'te costume, the player can dye the skirt. This led me to think "wouldn't it be neat if we could dye our own race's clothes?"
The race specific gear is some of the most unique in the game. For a lot of them they're the only piece of equipment in that style. Look at the female Hyur thigh boots for a good example. They're the only boots in the game that are tight to the shape of the lower leg. All other boots have that chunky feel about them, which in most desired glamour sets is quite unappealing. The problem is we're stuck with brown!
I ask that in a future patch we are either given the ability to dye our race gear or craft new dyeable versions of the gear that we can use in our glamour sets. I can't imagine it would be too hard to implement.
Here are a couple of (quick) Photoshops using some of the colours used in-game. In the first dyed picture of the Midlander's Boots, the black compliments her skirt much better than the brown default colour.

To add further to this request, I'd like to quote Ambie Lapin's idea for other races being able to use any race's equipment:
Whilst I appreciate this would require more work than simply dyeing the gear, as additional models for the equipment would need to be made, I feel it would be a positive step. Some of the racial gear is very unique compared to other equipment. There are no skirts in the style of a Miqo'te's and no leather tights like an Elezen's. Being able to use these gears in our glamour sets would add another rich layer to this already enjoyable system - even more so if they can be dyed.
