get RID of the extra buttons to press when engaging please

Not to sound like an ass, but this is currently a PC only MMO.

That plays better with a controller. (You don't sound like an ass, it's a valid point to make.)
Along with many other PC games in this day and age. They don't go for too much and I've gotten a lot of use out of mine.
Just a suggestion.

On the point of the keyboard controls, I agree that FFXIV has implemented it poorly and it defiantly needs work on that end.

Different people are different. But I have a much easier time playing this game with a keyboard and mouse. The only time I whip out the gamepad is if I'm gathering. Targeting on the gamepad feels terrible to me. Just clicking on whatever makes things so much easier.

If they ever get around to setting any button (including shift+, ctrl+, alt+ buttons) for the eaction slots 1-30 (instead of just 0-9), I'll be in heaven. That and allowing offensive spells to just start casting after a single press instead of being required to confirm the target.

I only use controller for gathering and crafting.
