Had 2x Stone Vigil HM runs recently where I was highest DPS as a warrior tank (i100 weapon, vit spec, i70 crafted accessories for 45 STR beyond base, and Defiance on). Even with lesser gear I'd expect DPS classes to exceed a tank. Maybe not double like a good DPS, but at least exceed by a little.

Didn't inspect all of the folks doing it, but those I did inspect were not spirit bonding. Sometimes people are just bad.

Anyway, I consider spirit bonding in dungeons rude - which is why I've never done it. A few items on someone and I don't care, especially if the dungeon is particularly easy. On the other hand if you wear mostly i45-49 or crafting/gathering gear in an Expert Roulette dungeon, you're just trolling. Treat those people like any other troll.

We're perfectly allowed to kick people who are being particularly stupid with the gear they wear into a dungeon. If they are:

    1. Wearing gear that totals to an average item level lower than the requirement.
    2. Wearing any gear, especially body pieces, that do not contain the job's main stat.
2a. Wearing any body pieces that do not contain Vitality.
    3. Spiritbinding a weapon.
    4. Spiritbinding equipment that cannot be converted to materia(ie. Legionary Visor, most Green Dungeon drops, etc.)

That person is likely to be a troll and should be kicked.

I put my SB gear and glamour it to look like the real deal. No problem so far...

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

Until they inspect your gear and have the game reveal what the item really is...

For them to troll you, they'd have to be purposely sabotaging your raid. Wearing nothing but gear to spirit bind is just stupid, not trolling. Also, I thought most dungeons have an ilvl requirement now so that you can't go in with super weak gear.

Honestly, that's grounds for a kick right there. I'd call them out on it in party chat and ask them to put on appropriate gear. If they refuse or if they don't answer, I would vote kick right then and there; I've done it many times. I don't do roulette (Or CT/ST) to carry people through dungeons so that they can spiritbond i45-49 gear that they could just as easily get done by simply going and spamming mobs in Urth's Gift.

I had a CM run a week or two back where one tank was brand new and the other tank was wearing gathering gear. We ended up wiping twice before the tank in gathering gear decided to actually switch back to some real gear so that we could keep her alive. I have no idea what would motivate anyone to do this on a tank of all things...

So... you're sb'ing gear that's the same item level equivalent of what you're glamouring it to, then? As long as it isn't crafting or gathering gear, I'm 100% fine with that. I start to have a problem with spiritbonding when people are wearing gear that's inappropriate to the dungeon, either for item level or stat/job reasons. Sorry, but Patrician's sets do not belong in any dungeon and DRG should not be wearing INT gear.

Same here. You are basically telling the rest of your party "CARRY PLZ".

The problem is you can switch gear once you're inside the instance, and people abuse this.

Smart people only SB accessories in dungeons. Accessories make up maybe 5% of your stats

I personally only SB accessories, and only accessories that have the appropriate stat. And I don't do it all the time. I won't do it in expert dungeons, and I won't do in ST, but I will do it in story or high level, but only on my jobs that are of high enough ilvl that I can still pull my own weight. But I also pay attention to things. If the other DD is undergeared, I'll put my real gear on. If the tank is way undergeared, I may actually put SB gear ON to help lessen the odds of stealing hate (it's not always enough). But I have NEVER been carried by anyone while spirit bonding, nor would I ever expect to be.
